OMG the last post is the most bizzare thing I have read in ages.

But for those of us in the here and now where there are no lab-organs, please consider saving lives through organ donation. A friend had a liver transplant at the age of 32 due to a degenerative disease (not anything caused by lifestyle). What a gift that she was saved and a piece of the donor will live on through her and the children she has had since.

I also agree with marrow donation. Getting on the registry only takes a few minutes and a small vial of blood. Some marrow collection sites only require a pricked finger for typing now. My friend died of leukemia because no match was found. Maybe you could have been his match.....

I am an organ donor, I am also a registered bone marrow donor, something I can do to help someone while I am still alive.

I also have a friend who has childhood diabetes, she almost died a couple years ago when one of her kidney's freaked for no apparent reason...I have asked that her family contact me if the need arises, I have known this person since we were 14, I would gladly give her one of my kidneys if we are a match...

Dead people don't need organs and living people with failing organs need them desperately. People die while they're on the waiting list for donated organs. The answer is obvious.
