Today’s Question:
Is there a pool-open to the public-in your city/town/village? None that are free. There's a huge pool at the YMCA, but membership there is quite expensive. I don't recall ever seeing an outdoor public pool in my town.
Have you ever been there? N/A
Does it charge a daily fee or require a season pass? It costs big bucks to use the Y pool.

Have you ever cleaned a pool, by:
-dragging a net on a pole? Yes. When I was growing up, I sometimes visited family friends a who lived about 25 miles from my home. They had an in-ground pool, and I always helped with the cleaning when I stayed there in the summertime.
-operating an underwater filtration/vacuum robot? Yes, I did this a few times.
-testing water pH and adjusting chlorine levels? Nope.
-other? Cleaned debris out of the filter baskets.

Extra Credit:
Do you know of good places to swim outdoors in your locale? Not specifically. Some towns have public pools, but I've never visited them so I don't know whether they're good or not. There's always Lake Michigan nearby, but it's hard to do any serious swimming in a huge lake like that (think ocean). It's fun to play in the water and on the beach, though.
Have you ever been to a clothing-optional (“nude”) beach? No, but I was close to one the couple of times I vacationed in Jamaica.
Have you ever cut your foot while walking barefoot outside? Yes, when I was a kid I did this on occasion. It was usually on a pop tab buried in the sand at the Lake Michigan beach.

Bonus:
Do you know of good spots for fishing in your region’s waterways? Yes, though I haven't visited them recently. I fished quite a bit when I was growing up. Loved it.
Have you ever been in/on a fishing boat (recreational or commercial)? Yepper. When my dad and I would go fishing, usually with my sister along as well, we used a little rowboat to get around. Dad had a small motor but didn't usually use it because of the noise it made. We preferred quietly rowing to our favorite spots in the lakes or rivers.

Just for Fun:
Do you regularly listen to or watch any weekend (weekly “wrap-up”) programs (whether news, opinion, entertainment, music, etc.)? Nope.

Today’s Word:
insipid /inˈsipid/ (adj.): Lacking flavor or distinction. Drab, dull, tedious and trite. I've always liked this word and use it sometimes. It's my favorite adjective when describing the several family newsletters which I receive every Christmas season. I call them insipid tomes.

Today Is:
PTSD Awareness Day
National Orange Blossom Day Pretty and sweet-smelling!
Helen Keller Day Yay, Helen! What a gal!
National HIV Testing Day
-and the start to-
National Prevention of Eye Injuries Awareness Week Be careful! Always wear safety glasses when you're doing any activity or using any equipment which causes bits of debris to fly. Even something like clipping hedges can cause specs to get into your eyes.
-and includes-
National Mosquito Control Week That reminds me - I need a new bat house. Bats are the best helpers when it comes to mosquito control, and they're environmentally safe!

Have a super duper, most excellent week, everybody!

A couple tv shows & one radio show,
all of which provide news with hearty helping of humor (which is only way I can attend to the news at all).
