[quote=bjh;45407570] Wow, some of you get up early!...I looked at this thread about 6 or 6:30 a.m. Western European Summer Time today and the QOTD were already up and with responses.

Today's Questions:
Did you ever give a child a bath in a sink or other improvised container - or - As a child were you bathed in the kitchen sink or washtub or similar? Not that I know of.

If you were that child, do you have a picture of yourself in that bath? I had a picture of me standing in a basin in the backyard, but I think that was more 1940's kiddy pool stuff.

Did you like baths as a kid or did you resist them? I loved baths, and I was a splasher.

Bonus:
Describe your favorite childhood picture of yourself: I am about two, I guess, in bathing shorts, standing on some steps leaning over and petting a white cat.

If you can, describe at least one memorable family photo that sticks out in your mind: Oh yes! The post wedding snapshot of my mother's father and his second wife. An absolutely horrible photo that gives of negative vibes to this day. She is standing ramrod straight; while he is next to her, looking resigned and equally lifeless. She had been his first girlfriend, whom he jilted to court my grandmother. A bad choice from family stories, so after her death 20 years later he went back to Canada and asked Marietta, the first woman, to marry him. This was just a bit over a year after his wife's death, and he did not inform his four adolescent daughters of what was in the wind. An extremely shocking surprise. Perhaps the knowledge of what this surprise was likely to set off accounts for the horrible photo

However, contrary to the photo, their marriage seemed to have been made in heaven. She was everything my grandmother had not been - warm, stable, supportive and a willing hard worker. Even her stepdaughters came to admire her - however grudgingly, and she was wise enough not to attempt to be a replacement mother. I really came to like her a great deal. (With luck the photo will appear below.)

Generationally, how far back do you or yours have family photos - just up to grandparents or further?

Great grandparents on one side...dourly religious and sectarian, and they rather look it as do some of their kids.

Foodie Question:
What food have you been craving recently? White chocolate, so I ate a who box of white chocolate covered cookies yesterday. They are honestly small cookies.

Pumpkin bread or banana bread? Banana

Apple pie or cherry pie? Apple

Just for fun:
It might be fun to be a night watchman in a __mattress factory_____________

[/u]Did you ever give a child a bath in a sink or other improvised container - or - As a child were you bathed in the kitchen sink or washtub or similar? yes we have pics of me in one side of a double sink - I loved those

If you were that child, do you have a picture of yourself in that bath? oops sorry already answered

Did you like baths as a kid or did you resist them? after a while I started resisting them but loving them once I was in. Then I switched to showers and still feel the same way - it's the drastic change of environment that I don't like. So I resist leaving a shower as much as I resist getting in!

Bonus:
Describe your favorite childhood picture of yourself: its a toss up between the one of me as a 4 year old with a cold - standing looking out the window. The other is when I'm maybe 6 and I dressed myself in gogo shorts, bare midriff polka dot tank top, jean jacket with western fringe and studs, and cowboy boots. What a combo! And I'm looking right through the camera too!

If you can, describe at least one memorable family photo that sticks out in your mind: out in the back yard, mommy sitting on the grass looking casually beautiful and radiant in the summer sun with all her girls around her. Daddy took the photo so there's a lovely connection with all of us looking at him

Generationally, how far back do you or yours have family photos - just up to grandparents or further? i think we have a great grandma photo on my moms side.

Foodie Question:
What food have you been craving recently? same old starch and sugar as always

Pumpkin bread or banana bread? banana thank you

Apple pie or cherry pie? ill take cherry

Just for fun:
It might be fun to be a night watchman in a spectacular art museum - will love to have the place to myself!

Thank you!

Today's Questions:
Did you ever give a child a bath in a sink or other improvised container - or - As a child were you bathed in the kitchen sink or washtub or similar? When my first was born, many times his bath was in a small baby bath over the kitchen sink. I myself do not recall being bathed that way.

If you were that child, do you have a picture of yourself in that bath? N/A

Did you like baths as a kid or did you resist them? I remember liking them.

Bonus:
Describe your favorite childhood picture of yourself: There are several of me on my parents refrigerator

If you can, describe at least one memorable family photo that sticks out in your mind:Me holding my son after my college graduation (over 30 years ago).

Second is a more recent picture I took with my daughter after we finished the West Point Sprint Triathlon together, our first. She's a nurse in the Army.

Generationally, how far back do you or yours have family photos - just up to grandparents or further? Back to grandparents.

Foodie Question:
What food have you been craving recently? Chocolate...most everyday of my life.

Pumpkin bread or banana bread? I enjoy a good banana bread. Pumpkin bread not so much.

Apple pie or cherry pie? Just had a piece of Apple Pie last night. That should adequately answer the question

Today's Questions:
Did you ever give a child a bath in a sink or other improvised container - or - As a child were you bathed in the kitchen sink or washtub or similar? Yes my first born went with us on a trip and we stayed at a small house which only had a sink or one of those antique wash tubs. Myself I have no clue

If you were that child, do you have a picture of yourself in that bath? no picture

Did you like baths as a kid or did you resist them? Yes for sure

Bonus:
Describe your favorite childhood picture of yourself: I have 2 pictures I really love. One is when father sat me at age 3 on top of a closet me holding my little teddy bear smiling happily and the other one is me standing in overalls wearing a headscarf standing next to our Airedale terrier and in the other hand I held a broom. I was only 3 or 4 years old and I knew already at that time my destiny...becoming a Hausfrau

If you can, describe at least one memorable family photo that sticks out in your mind: too many to mention..from my childhood one with my father and myself standing on a hiking trail him in Lederhosen and traditional Tyrolean hat with feathers, binoculars around his neck and a hunting rifle over his shoulders and me standing next to him in a hunters green Dirndl with white blouse and red apron carrying a little Rucksack and a wooden hiking stick. I must have been around 10 years old. The backdrop was the Central Austrian Alps with clear blue sky. I still remember that day well smelling the distinct alpine pine, flowering meadows and alpine farms, brown cows with their bells around the neck and seeing soaring buzzard. We were on a lookout to spot Steinbeck/alpine ibex and European red stag

Generationally, how far back do you or yours have family photos - just up to grandparents or further? I have pictures from my great grand parents from both sides of my parents

Foodie Question:
What food have you been craving recently? None really..well maybe cheese and green grapes or Bavarian soft Pretzel with butter
