Whose Christmas Tree is already up?
I put mine up last night. I was sitting watching t.v. and kept staring at the window thinking how nice a Christmas tree would look in this room (it's a front bedroom I use as a tv/pc room). And, the Christmas tree is a fake one I bought for a family gathering at my house in LV in 2002 and never used since, and it was in the closet in this room...so convenient...then I got the box of decorations out of the garage and brushed the spider corpses off it ( ), then my cat jumped in the box and crushed some of the fancy bulbs.. , and I started at 6pm and finished the last decoration by 8pm...and it looks nice! I was curious who else has set his or her tree up already and how many go for fakes out of conveniece and/or safety?

We did that when I was a kid a couple of times, bought live trees and then planted them after Christmas outside. Good idea And in the future, depending where you plant it, you can decorate it for Christmas with outdoor lights

Nice tree MoMark, (next time try taking the picture when it's not bright outside and the tree will not look as washed out and that's your picture taking tip for free ). I put my mothers tree up this past Sat. We have a fake tree, 7 foot. But this year we're not going to put it up because in Jan we're going to.....North Carolina and I don't think we would have time to get it down before we go. We will a little tree up which I'll put up next week. We always decorate the tree in gold, burgundy, and mauve with lots of angels on it.

Mines up. Been up for a week. Okay, normally not this early - EVER. But I bought a new tree and I only had 7 days to return it so I put it up. I wanted a new tree that was slimmer than our old monster one to fit in the entry in the curve of the stairs so that it could be seen from the entry, living & dining and the family room. Well tree #1 was WAY too skinny for the large entry so I took it back and got tree #2, a foot higher and wider. Put it up and it works. Sat there for two days w/ nothing on it, lights but not on as it is a prelighted tree. So I got the sacks of all the new decorations I've purchased this year and went to town one night. Waited another two days and finally felt sad for this gorgeous tree for not having it's lights on so I turned them on. Been on ever since. I did not tell my family so when they all showed up for Thanksgiving I told them we combined it this year so we could get it all over with . hehehehe. They didn't go for it
So over the weekend when we normally do ALL of the Christmas decorations we only had to do the outside and the banisters. It all looks so pretty and I still don't have my other decorations out of the boxes yet. I've got to get that done. When I'm done I'll take some pics.

Yeah, I use a camera phone for convenience much of the time as I can send the images within seconds to my email, save into "My Pictures", upload to Photobucket, then copy and paste the url to show the image here, and even though it was overcast outside today, it does wash out any pics where the object I'm photographing has the outside as a backdrop

We put our tree up about 2 weeks before Christmas.Since I having been living in this house we built 4 years ago,I have a new way to get rid of my tree when it's time to take it down.My Dog does not have any trees or shrubs in his pen so I take the tree down to him and he loves it.I tie it to the fence and have repeated this every year. It's funny how the dang thing still smells like a christmas tree all year.

Great Cats like trees. We just got two kittens about a month ago!
I hope they leave the ornaments alone. Every night they like to find a kid's toy and play soccer across the kitchen floor. It can get pretty loud.
But their so darn cute.
We are getting our tree this weekend. We go to this retired gentleman's house every year. He is about 90 something. He has a tree farm that closed years ago. Not very many people go to see him anymore! .His face lights up when he see's us coming. We get to hike up in his woods (OREGON)and pick any size tree for $10.00.
