I've never been in that area, but I hear it's nice. How far are you from Crater Lake? Do you get the same amount of rain they get west of the Cascades?
In the many flights I've taken back and forth from Phoenix to Portland, when I lived there 12 years ago, I've flown over Mount Hood, Three Sisters, and other mountains in the Cascade Range, which I think starts with Mount Shasta in northern California.
I could also swear, the few times I've driven on I-5 through southern Oregon, and into California, skies would be the typical gray and dreary overcast in Oregon, then not long after I crossed into California, the sun would come out!

Crater Lake is just short of 70 miles from us - It is our county's "Gem".
On a year-average basis, the city of Klamath Falls has the sunniest climate in Oregon. It is also probably Oregon's snowiest city. We enjoy a climate with four very distinctive seasons. Most of the heavy rainfall occurs from the coast to I-5. The other 2/3 of the state is high desert & dry.

Shasta "oversees" our city.

The same thing happens when you head East off I-5 into the mountains.

I can't play because I just don't know that much about most of the people who frequent here, but I have to say to everyone who sent in a picture...the pictures are absolutely fantastic. They ALL really took me away for a bit. Thanks for sharing such wonderful pictures. That very first one looks like something out of a storybook. I love them all!!!!

Kitty, you don't need to know about anyone here, that makes it all the better. Just look at the pics and vote for what is most appealing to you!!
Thanks! MonaLisa
