I actually ran away too good once. 1964. 14 years old. I must say here that i looked bigger/older than i really was. i got mad at dad and took off from Gary, Indiana. Immediatley got a ride with an Allied Van Lines truck. i helped him load/unload all the way to LA. Hung around Long Beach for a few days and talked way into a job as a cabin boy on a cruise ship. Ended up in Hawaii! Had not been off the boat 15 minutes when i stepped off the curb right in front of a bus and broke 1 arm and 1 leg when it ran me over. Mom and dad were not happy with the hospital bill or the cost of the plane fare to come and get me. In a sense I was lucky to have the broken bones already because it stopped Dad from breaking a few when i got home! i was a hero to all my friends though for making it all the way to Hawaii!

Never ran away for good. I "ran away" one night for a whopping 3 hours. haha Made it about 2 miles from home and stopped at a friends house. If I were to run away today, Id take the wife and kid to the Cayman Islands. Yesssssss.
