Oh, yeh. Ran away to my grandparents' house.....next door! LOL
Not sure where I'd run today. I kinda like it here. Guess I did run away when I moved from NNY.

Never ran away, per say, but there were times where after my dad dropped us off at the sitter's house I would wait for her to go back to bed then run home. Felt bad because I had to leave my baby brother behind in his playpen. Within an hour though, she would know where to find me and there really wasnt anyplace to hide since our house was locked. We had another sitter where I left one day, on my tricycle, and rode it all the way to the base where my dad worked. No one even noticed a kid on a trike in the middle of a very busy street. It wasnt until I made it all the way to the main gate of the base, that a lady noticed and took me to the guards, where they notified my dad and he had to take me home.
One more experience, I sneaked off one day, to ride with the ice cream man in his truck. Though I was 17, he was 21 and my dad was taking a nap so it was a daring chance, he knew we liked each other but didnt know we'd been seeing each other for a few months. Made it back in a couple of hours and he was just waking up when I walked in the door. Whew!!

When I'd threaten to run away, my mother would always make me laugh. She'd say, "When are you leaving, I'll pack your bags?" Remember the cartoons, the run-a-way always had all their possessions wrapped inside a bandanna that hoisted over their shoulder fastened to a stick?

LOL! Yes, I "ran away" when I was about 9. I got about a half-mile or mile away from home and huge wind blew up and I took it as a "sign" from God that I should return!
Where would I run away to now? I don't have anything to run away "from."

Yes I did run away once back in my crazy age, 14-15 I had plans to get myself a job and nothing to worry about like grown ups. I thought this time how lucky they are, dont have to go to school, learn. They just go to work, home relax and thats it ! Well, I KNOW today its not just that !
Oh, I almost forgot my run away stopped as soon as I called my mother to tell her what I intend to do. She was really upset and I got on first bus home....
when I think of that today - teenagers !!!haha

I used to pretend I was running away! I always said " I am running away" I just stood at the front door. And when no one came for me. I went back home. I think I was thinking I was gonna get some attention.

My running away idea is just too boring for your thread. I had this very wise mother who was the type that said if you don't want to live here, let me help you pack. I didn't go. Now let me tell you about our daughter.
We were renting on the West side of Charlotte near a park with a children's playground. One day I put my daughter down for her nap and went into the bathroom. When I came back out I went in to see if she was asleep yet. She wasn't there. I looked throughout our duplex and she was nowhere to be seen. She was about 1.5 to 2 years old, so I was just beside myself as to where she could be. I remembered that she liked to swing and so I went outside and went down the street and across a very busy street to the park and there she was in the cold in her bare feet running just as fast as she could toward the park swings. She is still a very strong willed person. I have no idea how she got the apartment door open. I am just glad I found her.

humm...well this is coming from my mother. When I was 3 years old I put on my mother's high heels and completely naked snuck out of the house and walked down the main street in our town, high heels and stark naked. My Dad was a policeman and one of his fellow officers brought me home in the police car.
