A rose named George would still smell like a rose.
This is Celebrate Your Name Week. Let's have some fun with names.

Today's Question(s):
Have you helped name anyone, anything, or a pet, and if so, how did you decide at least one name you chose?

Not the computer. Not the burger place. But any name, first or last, beginning with Mac or Mc:

-Do simple middle names like Ann or Lee "count"?
-Do know anyone who doesn't have a middle name?
-What about those who go by a middle name?
-If you have a middle name, do you like it or no?

Any other name or naming thoughts or interesting comments or skip to next:

Foodie Questions:
Last dish, food, meal - if any - you had with:
-Meatballs?
-Crab?
-Vermont maple syrup or sugar?

Growing up, what was your typical before school breakfast?

Last One:
Would you be okay living next to or across the street from a cemetery?

Today's Question(s):
Have you helped name anyone, anything, or a pet, and if so, how did you decide at least one name you chose? Yes, I named our first two cats. I got one name from reading a book and another name from a TV movie.

Not the computer. Not the burger place. But any name, first or last, beginning with Mac or Mc: McNamara.

What would be a good name for a country and western singer or cowboy? Travis Trailblazer.

Stuck in the Middle Questions:
Are middle names even necessary or what function do they have in your opinion? By and large, I think we can do without middle names. They might come in handy to help identify people with common names like John Smith.
-Do simple middle names like Ann or Lee "count"? If it sounds good with the first name, I say keep it.
-Do know anyone who doesn't have a middle name? Yes.
-What about those who go by a middle name? My boss from my first full-time job went by his middle name. I also had a classmate from high school who did the same.
-If you have a middle name, do you like it or no? Yes, I like it.

Any other name or naming thoughts or interesting comments or skip to next:

Foodie Questions:
Last dish, food, meal - if any - you had with:
-Meatballs? Angel hair pasta with marinara sauce.
-Crab?
-Vermont maple syrup or sugar? Waffles or French toast.

Growing up, what was your typical before school breakfast? Bowl of cereal and maybe a small glass of orange juice.

Last One:
Would you be okay living next to or across the street from a cemetery? I would tend to say no.

Have an enjoyable Friday Eve!

Today's Question(s):
Have you helped name anyone, anything, or a pet, and if so, how did you decide at least one name you chose?
I named my budgie Polly after a parakeet I saw on David Letterman's "Stupid Pet Tricks." The TV Polly got loose and flew up to the lighting grid in the studio. The crew had a time getting her down, but after the next break Letterman announced triumphantly that Polly had been safely returned to her cage. I decided I would name my next bird after her, and I did.
Not the computer. Not the burger place. But any name, first or last, beginning with Mac or Mc:
Mac Davis (whatever happened to him?)
What would be a good name for a country and western singer or cowboy?
Warblin' Willie

Stuck in the Middle Questions:
Are middle names even necessary or what function do they have in your opinion?
They are necessary since many people in this world have the same first and last name.
-Do simple middle names like Ann or Lee "count"?
Yes, of course.
-Do know anyone who doesn't have a middle name?
Yes, I've known a couple of people like that.
-What about those who go by a middle name?
Whatever floats your boat.
-If you have a middle name, do you like it or no?
No, I hate it. It was my father's first name.
Any other name or naming thoughts or interesting comments or skip to next:
I was given a nickname in infancy because my first name is the same as my aunt's. I don't care much for my nickname, but people say it suits me. My mother picked it, so to honor her memory I'll keep it. But in high school I insisted on being called by my real name because I thought it sounded more dignified.

Foodie Questions:
Last dish, food, meal - if any - you had with:
-Meatballs?
Progresso's Italian Wedding Soup
-Crab?
I had a crab cocktail about two or three months ago.
-Vermont maple syrup or sugar?
Both!

Growing up, what was your typical before school breakfast?
Cold cereal and milk. I was a latchkey kid. Dad was already at work by the time I got up, so my brother and I prepared our own breakfasts. When I was in 5th grade I'd stop at my friend Linda's house on the way to school, and her mother would sometimes make us both piece of raisin toast. That was like heaven to me.
Last One:
Would you be okay living next to or across the street from a cemetery?
Yes, I prefer neighbors who are quiet.

Thanks, bjh!
