Todays question Wednesday 3-05-08
Good morning everyone
It is a beautiful morning here in NE Fl
As we were eating dinner last night(I actually cooked )
A phrase came out of my mouth that is rarely heard so it gave me the idea for
Todays question:
When was the last time you uttered the phrase "Wow,I was wrong" ?
BTW Any "I was wrong" when used in a um "discussion" with a spouse/so or family member doesn't count.
Today in history:
March 5,1750 - The first Shakespearean play in America was presented at the Nassau Street Theatre in New York City. The play enjoyed by the audience was the famous "King Richard III".
Word of the day:
busker \BUS-kur\, noun:
A person who entertains (as by playing music) in public places.
Todays is:
National Cheese Doodle Day !!!!!
and
National Mother - in - Law Day

When was the last time you uttered the phrase "Wow,I was wrong" ?... as Fonzie used to say, "I heard of that!"....wrong? moi?...oh yeah, I recall once saying that back in '89...or was it in '76?
busker \BUS-kur\, noun:
A person who entertains (as by playing music) in public places... when I was younger I "buskered" with an oriental "dumbeg"...this is the drum used in oriental bands and the one used when the belly dancer does her solo.
National Mother - in - Law Day[/quote]... mine passed on on Valentine's Day, 1999 and she was the best...one that every MIL could learn from...a real sweetie ......................................... ..........
...and if anyone wants to see what one looks like I will take a pic of mine and post it.

For Christmas my FIL sent us yet another box of those "famous Steaks"
He has sent them before and I found the filet's very small and IMO not worth the money.
Not to mention my hubby worked as a butcher while he was going to school so can you see why I find it odd that he sends these.
Well this years "box" which is actually one of the best coolers, so nice and heavy, contained an assortment of frozen meat different cuts of steak & the standard burgers.
Well last night I pulled out a Rib Eye for hubby and a Strip steak for myself
and
when I took the first bite yup those infamous words came out
"I was wrong" lol the steak was very very tender and yummy as was hubbys
I still have the same opinion on the burgers (dry) and the filet's are still tiny
lol hubby felt the need to comment on hearing "I was wrong" coming out of my mouth.
He wanted to know if I could repeat it so he could record it for future use lol this time I got to roll my eyes at him

Good topic Karla! The best way to answer that is when I truly gave my life to Jesus over 8 years ago, that was when I said "Lord, I don't know what I was thinking of all these years, but I was wrong". - When I invited Him into my heart, I saw how wrong I was. I also found that it's better to be corrected by the Lord, than the ways man has to offer to correct us.
I'm just human, and I'm not perfect, but having Jesus as my Lord and Savior, has definitely corrected the flaws, which I never thought they were seen as such in God's eyes before, so in many ways, I'm still "Work In Progress"

I kind of have that Fonzie thing going, too. The other day, DH was looking for a "certain" pair of khaki shorts (he only has 4 or 5 of that color, and I don't know one from the other). Can't find them anywhere. Well, I went right behind him and looked in his dresser and his usual spots where he leaves things and heard "I already looked there". Well, you know men...they look at things and don't see them. So I kept looking and he kept saying "I don't know where they went. They're not here." And I told him, "well, I don't have them." Now, this isn't what I'd call a "discussion", just a search. So, to show him, I opened up my dresser drawer and, lo and behold, the buggers were there! (I think he hid them there.) So, in the same tone, I said "I told you, I certainly don't have them" as I handed them to him. So that's kind of my way of saying "I was wwrrrr....wwwrrrrroooo.....wwwrrrrrooooonnnng!" LOL
As far as Nat'l MIL day..... Let's just say that I'm 1 for 2 on that one.
Cheese Doodles! Love the crunchy ones, but I still hate that my fingers and mouth end up all orangey.

When I found out the truth about one of my best friend's husband
I thought I was a pretty good judge of character, until him. She has dated some jerks in her life, but at her wedding I looked at him and could tell he was gonna take care of her and love her the rest of her life, WOW, I was wrong, he cheated on her within weeks of getting married and carried on an affair the whole nine months she was pregnant. I tell you I was shocked.
Good news is, she is remarried to a wonderful man and has two children now and happier than anyone I know. And much deserved for her
Natl Mother in law day? I have to call my MIL ~ she has definitely been a wonderful part of my life!

Has anybody ever thought about why they called them "Mother In-Laws", instead of "Mother Out-Laws" ?
Ooops.. I think I just made a bad impression on my future mother out-la... I mean mother in-law!

Hey, I know what a busker is! My daughter played one in a version of A Christmas Carol.
Does "I'm sorry, I was wrong to snap at you" count as an utterance of "Wow, I was wrong"? If so, then that occurred at 3:30 this morning. I was awakened by a headache (um, those Florida rains washed those pollens right into my sinuses I think), and as I was watching the boobtube in the family room to fall asleep, my husband came in and tried to turn it off - I was so cranky that I snapped at him to leave it alone. I profusely apologized before he went off to work with "I'm sorry, I was wrong to snap at you".
Yum to Cheese Doodles although my favorite is the Jax brand, the puffy ones that definitely leave the fingers and lips a beautiful orange.
