What is the difference between today's retired person and baby boomer? Are they not the same?
A job. For some people, no, it's not the same. I am a baby boomer with a job.

Right. Not retired and hopefully I will always be working (at the very least, part time) as long as I am healthy (mentally and physically, of course) and able to do so. But that's just me.
I'll be 77 in a couple of months, and work from my home office 50-60 hours per week, with deadlines I'm obligated to meet. The only reason why I'm on CD is because my job involves working in "the field", then returning to my office to prepare reports from my computer. CD is a little break for my brain now and then, when my work becomes complicated. Back to work for me!

Not all retirees are Boomers. Plenty of retirees born before the mid 1940s are not considered Boomers, but are still kicking. Also, believe it or not, Gen Xers (born from the mid 60s to mid 70s) who have been fortunate and/or wise in earnings and investments are already at early retirement age.
•iGen, Gen Z or Centennials: Born 1996 and later.
•Millennials or Gen Y: Born 1977 to 1995.
•Generation X: Born 1965 to 1976.
•Baby Boomers: Born 1946 to 1964.
•Traditionalists, Greatest, or Silent Generation: Born 1945 and before.
I'm a boomer but not old enough to be retired yet. I have three years before I can collect my pension and Six years before I get SSI and Medicare.
