Today's Question(s):
Never have so many freely shared so much opinion until the interwebz. More people give
and receive more feedback about products, services, businesses, news articles, etc. than ever before. So tell us,
-
Do you read online reviews much, not much or somewhere in between?
Yes, I read online reviews all the time. I don't always take them seriously, though. There are nasty people out there who just like to complain, and shills who sing the praises of undeserving businesses. So I read all the reviews, throw out the extremes on either end, and go with the predominant opinion.
Have you posted online reviews of your opinions - for instance about restaurants, stores, etc.?
Yes, I have reviewed restaurants. But I read a lot more than I post.
Do you read or write comments on news articles?
Yes, they are often more entertaining than the articles themselves.
Do the presence or absence of comments affect which websites you use?
Not really, but I do prefer a site that allows them (and moderates them).
What do you think about so many opinions being available these days?
It's how democracy should work.

Foodie Questions:
There's a trend to use lettuce instead of bread, tortillas or other carbohydrate rich foods.
-Have you ever used lettuce to hold a burger or to hold taco fillings?
No, I've never done that, but I've heard of it. I read online yesterday about sandwiches that are made with hollowed-out cucumbers instead of bread. Sounds kind of messy, if you ask me.
Do you know of or use any other carb subsitutes, and if so, what?
I've used mashed cauliflower in place of mashed potatoes. They're surprisingly good, but more runny than potatoes.

Just for fun:
Drop this coin in the wishing well and to make it come true,
Silly or serious, Tell us what you wished for:
I wish the San Francisco Giants would win a game.[Edit] My wish just came true! Thanks, wishing well.

Thanks, bjh, and thanks for the pair of parrots, too!

Do you read online reviews much, not much or somewhere in between? Yes I read online reviews--very helpful.

Have you posted online reviews of your opinions - for instance about restaurants, stores, etc.? Yes, I am a regular reviewer on Trip Advisor and a few other places that I purchase stuff on. I do my part since I count on people to do their part. I think it helps businesses/doctors/car mechanics do a much better job now that people can review online. Some reviews you have to take with a grain of salt.

Do you read or write comments on news articles? Sometimes. Most of the time the comments get off topic and people get stupid attacking each other.

Do the presence or absence of comments affect which websites you use? No

What do you think about so many opinions being available these days? I think it is great--keeps businesses on their best behavior.

Foodie Questions:
There's a trend to use lettuce instead of bread, tortillas or other carbohydrate rich foods.
-Have you ever used lettuce to hold a burger or to hold taco fillings? All the time. I stay away from bread.

Do you know of or use any other carb subsitutes, and if so, what?

Good morning all from sunny England! It won't last.........

Right......... I do read online opinions. We go away on holiday a lot, so I go to trip-adviser, and read reviews of the hotels we are thinking of visiting. When we get home, I post reviews myself. I am always getting messages from trip-adviser telling me how much they love me........

What do I think of so many opinions being available nowadays? Hmmmmmmmm...... I guess folks are entitled to their opinions. I listen, and then ignore their opinion, if it doesn't match mine........

Using lettuce to hold a burger would be less fattening for sure........ not for me though.

Have a great day all.

Do you read online reviews much, not much or somewhere in between? i do read reviews if I'm looking for a new restaurant or specific item. Always take them with a few grains of salt and remember that people who bother to post reviews are more likely to be complaining (or raving because they're affiliated)

Have you posted online reviews of your opinions - for instance about restaurants, stores, etc.? a few times

Do you read or write comments on news articles? i read them

Do the presence or absence of comments affect which websites you use? not typically

What do you think about so many opinions being available these days? i think that, like most things, there are pros and cons. It gets tiresome

Foodie Questions:
There's a trend to use lettuce instead of bread, tortillas or other carbohydrate rich foods.
-Have you ever used lettuce to hold a burger or to hold taco fillings? no but I do enjoy fresh rolls at the local Thai place

Do you know of or use any other carb subsitutes, and if so, what? people make cauliflower mashed potatoes. I'm addicted to carbs

Do you read online reviews much, not much or somewhere in between? I read book reviews everyday but usually trust the ones my friend's write. As for products and services I always check the good ones against the bad ones. I love when people give a bad review because there was a problem with shipping or some similar problem

Have you posted online reviews of your opinions - for instance about restaurants, stores, etc.? I have for some restaurants, things to do and also hairstylists.

Do you read or write comments on news articles? Read them

Do the presence or absence of comments affect which websites you use? Well, the dumber the comments on FB the less I go there

What do you think about so many opinions being available these days? Too bad opinions can't be fact based or at least knowledgeable opinions.

Foodie Questions:
There's a trend to use lettuce instead of bread, tortillas or other carbohydrate rich foods.
-Have you ever used lettuce to hold a burger or to hold taco fillings? Actually I just did that yesterday. I had a ham sandwich on lettuce.

Do you know of or use any other carb subsitutes, and if so, what? Spaghetti squash instead of pasta because it's healthier than white pasta.

Do you read online reviews much, not much or somewhere in between?
Much. VERY much.

Have you posted online reviews of your opinions - for instance about restaurants, stores, etc.?
Absolutely. I'm a CPA, and I understand how important it is for businesses to get reviews. They have no true way to know how good or bad they are doing, and with reviews they can make changes.

Do you read or write comments on news articles?
Read yes. Comments no.

Do the presence or absence of comments affect which websites you use?
Not really.

What do you think about so many opinions being available these days?
You need to take them with a grain of salt. I believe more people with negative comments will take the time to post.

Foodie Questions:
There's a trend to use lettuce instead of bread, tortillas or other carbohydrate rich foods.
-Have you ever used lettuce to hold a burger or to hold taco fillings?
I've had lettuce wraps at restaurants before. Not bad, but no substitute for bread.

Do you know of or use any other carb subsitutes, and if so, what?
Never thought in the terms of carb substitutes.
