Default If U volunteer 1ce a week in your kid's classroom, would U like these for XMAS?

I have a mother who volunteers once and sometimes 2ce a week in my class. I have a very needy group-low reading with behavior problems, and she takes care of that group for over an hour for me. She even oversees other groups when a problem arises.

I usually haven't had volunteers; in the past I have given a $10 G/C to Blockbuster, with a box of popcorn and a 2 liter of soda, in a bag. Is that something you would use?

How about a manicure certificate?

Can anyone give me any inexpensive ideas ($15 and under) that you would appreciate as a classroom volunteer from the teacher-and no, giving your child an underserved "A" will not work!

A manicure certificate is really nice. There's Starbucks, too.
Actually, one of the nicest volunteer gifts I ever got was a collection of thank you notes from the kids in the class.
I still have it.

All gifts are appreciated. I would much rather have a certificate for a car wash than one for a manicure. How about making her a certificate and having all of the kids sign it and put it in a frame? You can get all kinds of frames at Dollar General, Big Lots, etc. without spending a fortune.

The manicure would be nice. If its a busy mom (as most are) the manicure might not last as long with the hands on mom duties! A pedicure might be better with the running around that she does, and that way if the nail polish comes off.. people are less likely to see

Best Buy and Circuit City gift cards are another thought. If it's a young volunteer then she would probably like to get a movie or CD shes been wanting.

I like the blockbuster gift cards, got one last year from one of my kids teachers. I also like to get people (like teachers) gift cards to the movies, some have packages that include two tickets and like $5 or $10 in concessions. Favorite restaurant ones are nice too. I don't drink coffee so the only time I visit Starbucks is in the winter for hot chocolate. Ask her child what she likes. Maybe she likes fun earrings or something. I like the group thank yous. Letters that the kids write of thanks are always really cute and enjoyable.

Now, what to get those teachers this year??? hmmmm
no candles
no coffee mugs
no apple anything
nothing that says "teacher" on it

And since your a teacher......... do you prefer that everyone do their own thing for you or do you like the group gifts? I'm room mom (again , but wouldn't have it any other way, lol) so I have to decide.
