I always order my live Christmas trees from Vermont, my wife and I used to live there and there is something special about those trees.

Growing up my parents always had a live tree and I carried that on when I had my children. Now that there is only myself and hubby we have a table top we put up. If the kids and grands lived close to us I would have a live tree.

Same here, small tree from the local grocery store nearby. Mom would give me a dollar and the grocer always picked out something for me. Years later always found a nice tree in the woods near our home here and would put a blue ribbon on it. Then we would cut it down about 10-12 days before Christmas near one of our son's birthday on the 14th. Now just the 2 of us, so have a smaller artificial tree. Try to decorate it with as many of our antique and other old ornaments as well as the ones our children made in school. Love this season.

I have a fiber optic artificial tree. It's great, pull it out of the box, plug it in and put on the ornaments. I don't ever have to untangle strings of lights.

Real cut Christmas trees in our desert climate dry out too fast, making the house dirty in just a few days with those needles falling off. Besides the mess IMO they're not cost effective. Unless you have children still at home, then an artificial tree that you can use year after year is what we like. The artificial trees look so real anymore.

We dont do trees here. For most of us its just another day. No mess to clean up afterwards, no fire hazards, but we're all cool with that, most of us got burnt out on all that stuff years ago, and no one's really missing anything just because we dont have a tree in the house.

There is no option in your poll for me.
I used to get a small potted tree that I could put on a table and decorate with red ribbons tied to the ends of the branches. After Christmas, I could plant it in the yard. I did that for three Christmases and then couldn't find a little potted tree after that. I only want a tree that will live on to see many more Christmases.
This is not about "bah humbug" for me. I have very specific taste and it's not being met. It's really frustrating.

I would like to have a real tree. The last real tree we had, 15 yrs ago, we could sit and listen to the needles fall off of it. We used the best "keep your tree green" technology available at the time. So we now have two artificial trees. Why two? We need a place for our partridge. We have a "Partridge in a pair of trees".
Someone earlier in this thread stated there were too many people for the size of the planet. I did the math. 6.7 billion people, 196,935,000 sq mi or 126,038,400,000 acres. That's almost 20 acres per person. The problem is that we are living in the wrong places. Will some people in Chicago move to Cairo, IL please.
