Yep! It didn't matter that a cow or two were standing just upstream. I still occasionally play with things that go "boom." I also played hide and seek in the thick DDT fog wafting behind the mosquito control trucks.

I remember playing with mercury too although not sure where it came from. No ill effects here either. (I'd say there was but it's way too late to sue the school. )
Haha, yeah, it’s hard to say. I’m not free of ill effects, that’s for sure. But after 55 years or so, they could be due to any of the not-so-brilliant things I’ve done
I'm so old I remember... Taking the " Kids from the City " Snipe Hunting on a summer evening.. pesky critters hiding in hollow logs and up in the crotch of a old oak tree...
