I am not that old but I do recall:

Having to wear a dress to school

buying meat by the cow at the butcher shop (not the

fuller brush guy coming door to door

Milk delivered daily

Having the same mailman for years and giving him a present at Christmas time every year.

I remember walking to the local Utotem convience store (which was a new business then) and for about 25 cents getting candy, bubble gum, and two cokes.

and speaking of TV the huge floor TV Set that when turned off the picture went to the little white dot that seemed to burn into you eyes if you stared straight at it.
