I started going through those pictures this afternoon. Lots of things to remember, most very personal, but I found this one I thought I would share. I spoke of some of these things before. There is the steel semi truck, the Erector set, the Lincoln Logs, and the American Logs. Notice the green (trust me on that) rubber jeep in front of the one little house. And that is Linoleum on the floor.

Default Does anyone remember the "DDT MAN"?

Hey girlfriend,
yah I remember our first microwave and cable TV hook-up, the first color TV we had. My mother's first "hand-held" calculator with a paper tape and plug in connection...
The first casette radio in my car; the first CD player. My first huge cell phone with the pull up antennae. (Still have it! )
My first internet connection in 1995; a dial up at 45 bps which was fast then!
My first PC in 1985. My first digital camera in 2000.

DO YOU REMEMBER THE "DDT" MAN?

I remember when gasoline was 14 cents a gallon and the gas station attendant filled it for you, checked the oil, the tires, and wiped your windows clean.
Guess how long ago that was.

LOL, Nitram, I believe I was a teenager then, and we could fill a carload( including two in the trunk) of kids and go to the drive in movie for a dollar We could cruise town and Frisches Big Boy all night on 50 cents worth of gas..It was the mid to late 1950's

I'm so old that I remember when polyester was in style. It was so popular you could buy this stuff by the yard. My Grandmother was a seamstress and she would buy and make clothes for us all out of it. In fact she even made a scratchy, polyester quilt out of the scraps.
I think I"m older than you, Lindsey. I can remember when "drip dry" and "Wash and Wear" clothes first came out. 'Course, my mom insisted on making ALL my clothes, so I didn't have any such garments.

Yes, I remember stuffing guys in the trunk too and sneaking into the drive-in. And going to the Bobs Big Boy and meeting with all the cool hotrods and the girls waiting on you in your car. I miss the good ol days, they were then.

Was this the guy that came by with the "fog" truck to spray DDT in your neighborhood? I was scared to death of this truck, not knowing that I had more than one reason to be scared!

Did you grow up in the San Fernando Valley? This was a regular past time when I was a young teen! Loved Bob's!
