I remember laying on the living room floor, head on a couch pillow, watching Felix The Cat cartoons on Saturday morning. I remember telling my Mom I will be back later, and taking out on my bike in the morning after breakfast, and not coming back till noon. I remember laying in my bed on those lazy, summer mornings, listening to a crop-duster far off, as it climbs and dives above someone's field. Then, late at night, before I drift off to sleep, I hear a train sounding it's horn, on it's way to some faraway town.

I remember how it feels to be a kid, again.

I'm so old I remember... Gravity Feed Gas Pump... when I started driving the little gas station down the road had Gravity Feed Gas Pump.. Yank on the cord and make the cow bell ring... Miley would look out the window and nod.. 7 foot tall cylinder on top a large glass cylinder marked with 0---10 in 1/2 gal. graduation.. grab the handle and pump. The cherry colored gasoline would fill the cylinder some were around the 7 mark you would stop.. at 32 cents a gallon $2.25 is all you could afford. If Miley was not looking you would ring the cow bell again.. She would smile.. and wave OK.. now fold down the license plate and unscrew the gas cap.. stick nozzle in... pull up on the handle.. and watch the gas drain into your tank.. if you had gas left over.. you would ring the cow bell again.. Miley would look at the pump and wave and smile then you would hang the nozzle back up. This would cause the remainder of the gas in the tower to drain back down into the storage tank.. Walk in and Miley had written the amount and cost down on a brown paper sack pay her and she would smile and say..... have a great day.. Life was so much simpler
