I 'found' one of our train sets that I had bought for our oldest son, the other day. Will box it up and give it to him later this year so he can set it up for his family. Darn, I do miss those times. Didn't know then that 'those were the days'. Comes with getting older????

How nice that you still have it to give to your son! I do miss those times, too......yes, it must be the "o" word, but even YOUNG people say "times have changed"...it's been too much too quickly, if you ask me...(did anyone?).

Sailaway-

You come to Detroit and I will give you a personal tour of the museum and village! Do you remember the Hudson's flag? At one time it was the largest U.S. flag in existence.

Somebody mentioned candy cigarettes- that reminded me that I am so old I can remember commercials on TV.

Virginia Slims: You've Come a Long Way, Baby

Marlboro: Come to Marlboro Country (Ever wonder happened to those cowboys?)

Camel: Slow down. Pleasure up.
I'd Walk a Mile for a Camel.

L & M: Just what the doctor ordered.

Kool: Come all the up to Kool.

EVE: Say farewell to the ugly cigarette.

Tareyton: I'd rather fight than switch!

Lucky Strike: L.S.M.F.T. (Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco)

Phillip Morris: Call for Phillip Morris. Call for Phillip Morris.

Tiparellos: Cigars? Cigarettes? Tiparillos?
Should a gentlemen offer a Tiparillo to a lady?

Chesterfield 101's: A silly miilimeter longer!

Muriel Cigars: Hey big spender, spend a little dime on me.
Why don' you pick me up and smoke me sometime?

And my personal favorite, and the bane of every English teacher in the United States-
Winston: Winston tastes good like a cigarette should.

That sentence is gramatically incorrect- should read "....as a cigarette should." A whole generation of baby boomers grew up hearing this, many of whom are now English teachers, and still can't get it right.

Do you realize we now have a whole generation of young people who have never heard a plug for a cigarette in TV? There is so much else to trip them up, I suppose we should be grateful for small favors. LOL
