300,000? No wonder you don't write me as often as you used to...

Caloopin': It might be spelled with a k - I've never seen it in print. I borrowed this word from my better half. I never heard of it back in my caloopin' days but there's a certain ring to it that I like. It's kinda like carousing. without all the drunkenness.

What a great thought. I guess we're carrying on, after all.....

Speaking of "writing", I remember filling up a trash basket with "rough drafts" on inexpensive paper trying to write the REQUIRED thank you notes (sent by snail mail, of course) for gifts from relatives, going to a party at a friend's house (my Mom had me write a thank you note to the mother who "gave" the party, how nice is that) for a b'day, etc......and then when I got it right, I could copy my letter onto a sheet of "good" stationery.

Remember learning the "Palmer method" and how readable, even "beautiful" cursive was a goal to achieve through practice on that lined paper with the three lines so the capitals and "small" letters were sized correctly?

OK, I'm trying to remember click clacks. Were they those small metal things that you held in your hand and they made a clicking sound when you squeezed them and a clack when released? If so... I remember them too! If not, please fill me in. And if so, what the heck were they all about? Didn't they carry some sort of advertising, like a radio station or grocery store?
