Remember when businesses provided prepaid stamped envelopes for return mail to them.
Now they don’t even give you the envelope, much less prepay postage.

Perhaps this has been mentioned in the previous posts somewhere, but speaking of sweets, I remember chocolate babies. You could buy them loose by the bag - half pound or whatever at the local five and dimes. They were about the size of Hershey's Kisses and looked just like little babies. I also remember that they had a very politically incorrect name which got a pass, at least in my all-white hometown in NH. I don't recall anyone referring to them as chocolate babies, but rather N----- Babies.
Little old ladies would ask for a pound of N----- Babies. Kids would ask their moms to buy them a bag of N----- Babies. Here, sweetie, I got you your favorites - N----- Babies.

I'm so old I remember the variety shows "Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters" and the Andy Williams Christmas specials.

A really weird record player that I had. It was like a box (covered), with a handle and you were able to slide the record in (only 45's) and when it was done, it slide out. OR, if you wanted to hear something else there was a button to push to get it to come out. Anyone remember that? I will do a search and see if I can find a photo of it. I remember it was pretty darn cool.

I think they looked something like this. I wanted one when I saw it in a catalog, but it never happened.

sort of like the one I am talking about, but it was longer, and had a little spot for the record to go in. I can't seem to find a photo yet.

Karla where is she when I need her?
I’m so old I remember ~ staying up all night just to study for the next “Question of the Day” thread that comes in the morning.
