Watching Secretariat win the Triple Crown, June 73. This was so exciting to watch people everywhere were talking about this Super Horse ! I remember he was on the cover of Time magazine.
Secretariat won by an astonishing 31 lengths, it was as though he was in his own race!
Also, it's incredible that he broke records in the other two races.
This beautiful horse brought so much hope and happiness to people and made us realize that miracles do happen
I remember when it was a real treat as a child to be invited to a birthday party. All the kids were dressed up like they were going to church. Games were played and sometimes there was even a pony ride provided. There were plenty of party favors and if you were lucky enough to win one of the games you went home with a prize in addition to your party favors. Today's birthday parties for a child and friends are usually very casual and it's cake, ice cream and the birthday boy or girl opens their presents.
No indoor plumbing (yes an out house and a water pump in the back yard)
I remember an out house in the backyard and a hand-operated water pump in the kitchen, but that was because as a child we visited an Amish family in Ohio.
Moved to California in 96 than Colorado a few years age

I’m looking at buying something and there’s a 5 or 10 year warranty stated. At my age that's a lifetime warranty.
