I remember working as a Texico gas station attendant before I was a Mechanic.

I'm so old I remember the butcher cutting steaks one at the time on a hardwood butcher block on a sawdust floor. He would bring out a full side of beef and break it down and then cut roasts and steaks and grind trimmings in to burger..
