I remember when the gas stations had a “gas war” and the cost got down to 9 cents a gallon and the station owners paid 10 cents for every gallon they had to sell for 9 cents. In those days gas wars started every now and then to help move the product and attract business. The going “normal” price was about 23 cents a gallon.

TV's with all kinds of bulbs inside them

Soul Train with Don Cornelius

American Bandstand where they rated songs and always said they rated it so-and-so because it was good to dance to.

Boxed spaghetti (like mac and cheese)

Appian Way Pizza (boxed)

When they said John Lennon was dead because it said so when you played some song they did backwards.

Black lights at parties

Boones Farm Strawberry Hill Wine (do not recommend getting drunk on this crud)

I remember elementary school in the auditorium during school programs when the principal would tell all the 4th graders to go "stand and wait behind the asbestos curtains!" "Hurry, let's go!" "OK, Mr. Gertz!" "Yes, Mr. Gertz!" "No, uh, no prob', er, Mr. Gertz..."
