I remember when the gas stations had a “gas war” and the cost got down to 9 cents a gallon and the station owners paid 10 cents for every gallon they had to sell for 9 cents. In those days gas wars started every now and then to help move the product and attract business. The going “normal” price was about 23 cents a gallon.
