I'm so old I remember smoking everywhere I wanted. In movie theaters, planes, elevators and grocery stores. Also in clothing stores and every restaurant. I know, I know, those were smokin' times. It's been 24 years now since I smoked two packs a day of Cool Menthol. I still miss it a little. I'm about over it now. What I remember back then is that no one complained too much. Non smokers just suffered and kept quiet for the most part. Probably suffered to death. Sorry for my ignorance.

I remember being in seventh grade and they would "let" us girls wear pants on Wednesdays! It was the dawning of a new era, let me tell you.

I must be about the same age as the OP but all this talk of smoking...my college dorm had a cigarette machine and the cost was $1.25 for a pack and that was considered highway robbery back then!

I am so old I remember getting ice cold 6 OZ cokes in glass bottle for a nickel. Then would cash in the bottle at the local bottling plant for 2¢ making it cost only 3¢ a bottle. And long tootsie rolls where a penny.....
