Mrs. Aks. & I went to see “Sicko” the documentary comparing the highly profitable American health care system to other countries directed by Michael Moore. It was a great documentary providing “food” for thought! Knowledge is the tool to use and you’ll never know if there isn’t something better if you don’t become informed

No snacks while at the movie, I always take Mrs. Aks out for a meal first.

We morally rent DVD and stay at home. Mostly because I don’t like large groups of people and they always seem to be noisy at the theater just when it’s important to hear what is being said on stage (screen).

At home Mrs. Aks eats popcorn while viewing the DVDs however I generally don’t eat anything while watching a movie.

It sounds like the best play to view a movie now is at Mikes house, he has eats and a HD hometheater ~ what’s playing next Friday Mike?

last movie I saw was Bewitched. I am like a lot of you, there is just nothing that jumps out at me and if I feel I wont' watch it on Direct On Demand at home, why should I pay the high movie price? I like the peace and quiet of my home, plus the bathroom break is not as long--not as far to go!

favorite snack is buttered popcorn and chocolate covered raisins.

oh and I love broccoli just about any way you slice it>

I can't remember the last movie I saw at the theatre. I think it was 'The Notebook' about 5 years ago.
I prefer watching movies at home and sometimes I snack.
When I did go to the theatres, I would always sneak my own snacks in.

Last theater movie was Ghostrider. DS goes about once a month.

We do most of our movie watching at home. But if there is an epic style release (like The Alamo) we catch it at the theater

Don't sneak in snax. Eat first.

Get raisinetttes or junior mints and water. Share a bucket of popcorn.
At home it's Ben & Jerry's or chips. Sometimes No butter popcorn for me, super soaked butter for the boys.

I do not see how a person could get burgers & everything in! Must not have been in the summer... no place to hide it.

Love broccoli!

hey all
I am movie challenged
the last movie I saw at a theater was the last star wars because mr karla wanted to see it on the big screen

I much prefer watching them at home because it never fails that during the movie, especially the long ones, you have to go to the bathroom
rofl I am always afraid I will forget where I am sitting so I count the rows on my way down then have to wait for a "light scene" so I can count the rows back to my seat :P
yeah I know I am weird

I have taken my bottle of diet pepsi in and like bwp wait for a loud scene to open it.
along with a box of jr mints.

there use to be a theater in NJ that used real butter on their popcorn

Within the next few months, after we move into a bigger house, we're talking about getting one of those HD tv's, so watching movies here will be more interesting.

It's been so long since I've gone to a theater...I can't remember what the movie was!

Milk Duds would be my snack of choice.

Beer is the only thing I've ever smuggled into a theater.

To show you how out of the movie going experience I am . . .

My 15 year old daughter's first trip to a movie theater was this past January. We don't have theaters in my neck of the woods, and there always seems to be something better to do when we hit the big city. We have made time to go to stage productions, though.

However, my dd really, REALLY wanted to see the latest National Treasure. One extremely nasty cold and something like $60 later, I'd say we had a pretty good time. Since dd had never been to a theater before, we decided to let her experience the whole enchilada: hot dogs, drinks, popcorn. (Yuck, that would make a very disgusting enchilada!) Actually, we were all pleasantly surprised to discover theaters now carry kettle corn, so we veered slightly from the traditional butter drenched popcorn (my favorite!).

Although I'm guessing that nasty cold came from the theater, I'd still prefer to watch a movie on the big screen. Now that the seats are 10X more comfortable and they're elevated from the ones in front, it's a pretty nice experience. No more craning my neck around the tall people sitting in front of me.

Can't wait to tell dd that today is National We Love Broccoli Day! <insert evil grin>
Rats! Can't goof off too much today. Gotta get ready for tomorrow!
