Todays question Saturday 3-22-08
Good morning everyone
Happy Saturday !!!
Whew it was a busy week. I took a look at my "To-Do" list then saw it is
International Goof-Off Day !!! so lol I am tempted
I was talking to a friend yesterday and she said she wanted to spend the day going to the movies. So thats was the inspiration for
Todays 3 part question:
What was the last movie you saw in the theater ?
Extra credit : Do you prefer watching movies at the theater or at home ?
Triple credit : What is your "movie snack of choice" and do you sneak snacks into the theater?
lol I am making you all work on International Goof-Off Day
Today in history:
March 22, 1903 Niagera Falls runs out of water because of a drought
Word of the day:
remunerate \rih-MYOO-nuh-rate\, transitive verb:
1. To pay an equivalent to for any service, loss, or expense; to recompense.
2. To compensate for; to make payment for.
Today is:
National We Love Broccoli Day - not this we !!!
and
National Sing Out Day
It is also
International Goof-Off Day !!!!!

Let's see, I think it was Brokeback Mountain. I'd rather go to the theatre, but since it costs about $30 for 2 people to go, we save the money and rent Netflix. When we do go, we don't sneak it in. I like that greasy, stale popcorn, too.
Karla, you're talking the City of Niagara Falls, right? No way the falls themselves could run out, could they???
Love broccoli. You wouldn't want me to sing out! Hey, since most days are goof off days for me, I'll do some work, ok???
Enjoy the day, all.

What was the last movie you saw in the theater ?
There Will Be Blood
Extra credit : Do you prefer watching movies at the theater or at home ?
You know, the theater experience is kind of deteriorating, but I still like both equally--I enjoy the big screen, the popcorn etc.
But I also enjoy watching a dvd at home, with bathroom breaks etc, I appreciate the convenience of watching the movie in half-hour segments over a couple evenings.
Triple credit : What is your "movie snack of choice" and do you sneak snacks into the theater?
Popcorn heavily laced (preferably *layered*) with real butter but will cheerfully accept fake butter. Coke, not Pepsi.
I have smuggled cans of Coke into the theater upon occasion.
I wait until a noisy preview to pop open the tab.

Took the kids to see Cars when it came out and their Grandmother was up visiting. 3 adults and 4 kids all above the "free" age. $20 to get in because the owners don't think a family should EVER have to pay more than $20 to see a movie. Another $20 for 7 popcorns, and 7 drinks (same limit by the owners). It is one of the few movie theaters that charge "regular" prices for the concessions. Large drink is $2.50, Small drinks are 90 cents med are $1.25. Large popcorn is $3 med is $1.50 and small/child size is 90 cents. It is nota dump either. Totally remodeled 4 years ago with all new projectors, seats, screens, everything. Needless to say, with that attitude toward their customers, this little 4 screen Mom & Pop movie theater is always packed and they put a national chain theater with 10 screens out of town in just a couple of years of re-opening. Nice to see the little guys win once in a while.

I Am Legend was the last movie I saw in the theater and I prefer watching them at home... it's a whole lot cheaper and quieter, plus I can wear my jammies.
When we do head to the theater, my favorite snack is Goobers... it's the only time I eat them and I sneak them in if I have time to pick them up before hand.

Castaway-wow that was awhile ago.
Would rather watch at home-we have DirectTV and OnDemand.
Part of the movie theatre experience is greasy popcorn-so never snuck treats in. Also Bon-Bons!!!
National Goof Off day-that's everyday here.
Love brocolli sauteed w/garlic and olive oil tossed with pasta. And brocolli rabe.

Last movie I saw was Enchanted.
As for movie theater vs home, it all depends on the movie: some don't translate as well from big screen to little screen; some are worth the big bucks to see at a theater while others are only worth the $3.95+/- to rent.
Movie snack of choice is extra-buttered popcorn and Good n Plenty candy.

The last movie we went to see was Hairspray. (2 adult kids, and myself) We thought it was ok, but expected better. We went to the discount theater and it still cost over $30. We puchased the sodas and popcorn and candy there. I would much rather stay at home. It's much more comfortable and less expensive.
I love broccoli...
National goof off day is better yet!
Have a good day all
