Today's Question(s):
When things don't go as expected, how would you say you have reacted:
(choose any/all that apply or inform us)
- Taken it in stride?
Sometimes

- Said naughty words?
I think bjh has been spying on me

- Blamed the universe?
I am not one to blame things on the universe. Maybe the galaxy, but not the universe.

- Laughed it off?
I seem to be laughing more and more

- Other, explain?

Foodie Question(s):
Do you pay much/any attention to your salt intake?
When I was in the hospital the doctors seemed to think an absolute void of salt in my diet was an awesome way to go. After a couple meals minus anything that resembled salt I bribed someone to swipe a salt shaker from the hospital dining room and hid it in my nightstand.

Can you name anything you stopped eating because it was too salty?
Nope

Any foods you are likely to add salt to?
Spuds

What's your most frequent salty craving(s)?
fries

Just for fun:
You know the old saying, strike while the iron is hot.
Often I feel like I've struck while the iron was lukewarm. Know what I mean ?
Big or small, can you think of any lost opportunity/ies you heard of or experienced yourself?
Several years ago I told someone an airline stock that had lost about 90 percent in value would rebound. I wish I had taken my own advise. Less than a year later it had gone up 2000 percent in value.

I have done all of the above, but on the whole I usually take things in stride.

Foodie Question(s):
Do you pay much/any attention to your salt intake?
No, because my blood pressure is pretty low. Maybe that's because I don't care much for salty foods. I do pay attention to sodium content when I'm cooking for Mr. Bay because he has high BP and heart disease.
Can you name anything you stopped eating because it was too salty?
Popcorn, smoked salmon
Any foods you
are likely to add salt to?
Eggs, french fries, potatoes.
What's your most frequent salty craving(s)?
Potato chips

I lived in New York City for six years and never once went to the Metropolitan Opera. I could have seen Pavarotti and Domingo before they superstars.

Thanks, bjh!

[quote=bjh;51244057]Welcome aboard. Hoping we all can have some fun with . . .

Today's Question(s):
When things don't go as expected, how would you say you have reacted:
(choose any/all that apply or inform us)

I have this underlying belief that sooner or later everything will fail to work as expected, and for some things it is often. So, my reaction is often "Oh sh*t!" and then I go have coffee, read a book....whatever, or just go on with whatever was next on the agenda. I think being old has a lot to do with it now. So many things in my life went awry - big and small - thousands and thousands probably by this time, but nevertheless here I am and I am okay about "here I am. " So, I'm getting the message that a lot of "things that mattered" but failed to go the way I thought they should, or the way I wanted, perhaps didn't matter nearly as much as I thought at the time.

Said naughty words?
- Blamed the universe?
- Laughed it off?
- Other, explain?

Foodie Question(s):
Do you pay much/any attention to your salt intake? Not now, because it has become a habit to us no salt oftentimes, or extremely little when I do use it.

Can you name anything you stopped eating because it was too salty? There is a line of canned meals sold here that I tried, and each one was incredibly salty.

Any foods you
are likely to add salt to? Any salad made mainly of fresh lettuce.

What's your most frequent salty craving(s)? Potato chips. I buy maybe a bag a year, and eating it is like demonic possession.

Just for fun:

One romantic one long ago

Depends what it is. If I didn't want to do it in the first place, I say, "Thank God" under my breath. If it's something I really wanted to do, I'm disappointed but don't dwell on it. If the reason it doesn't go as expected, like someone died or is sick, then I'm more upset over that.

Foodie Question(s):
Do you pay much/any attention to your salt intake?
Yes

Can you name anything you stopped eating because it was too salty? Salted bagels.

Any foods you are likely to add salt to? I don't own a salt shaker for the table but I do use garlic salt and onion salt when I cook.

What's your most frequent salty craving(s)?
Rold Gold Pretzel rods.

No.
Big or small, can you think of any lost opportunity/ies you heard of or experienced yourself? Not really regarding myself. I'm pretty lucky that way. I'm sure there is some historical lost opportunity for a world leader but right now my brain isn't awake.

Foodie Question(s):
Do you pay much/any attention to your salt intake?
- No

Can you name anything you stopped eating because it was too salty? - No, but plenty I don't buy partially because of high sodium content.

Any foods you are likely to add salt to? - Many but it's not overdone. High salt content is usually found in commercial TV dinners, many canned goods I would not touch, and restaurant food which I rarely partake.

What's your most frequent salty craving(s)? - I don't usually have one but I admit a few times per year I buy salt and vinegar potato chips.

Thanks, bjh.

Foodie Question(s):
Do you pay much/any attention to your salt intake?

There's always an awareness.

Can you name anything you stopped eating because it was too salty?

Not really. The other day I was eating some sunflower seeds that were already reduced salt but still really salty. I put those away after I felt I had too much.

Any foods you
[b]are likely to add salt to?

I don't really add salt to my food when it's ready to eat..

What's your most frequent salty craving(s)?

Popcorn, pickles.
