Here is another pet peeve of mine and I need to deal with it every day... people who take their dogs on walks but do not bring baggies to take their sweet pooches "deposits" to a garbage receptacle.
There was a woman who would let her dog OFF the leash and he would run directly to my yard to relieve himself. So one day I was in my sunroom and lured the dog to the door with one of my dogs treats. I took the dog back to the front of the house and saw the owner and said " Oh, does this dog belong to you? I was just getting ready to bring him home. I assumed he had run off since he was not on a leash." I do not have that problem anymore.
DITTO as to irresponsible dog owners and about just being direct with people like that.

I am on the board of an HOA and some of our board members don't use doggie bags. One doesn't even use a leash. It's embarassing and hypocritical.

And being direct with people, I agree with you there, as well......

Once a young woman in my neighborhood was walking two dogs and as they were pooping beside the sidewalk in front of a park, I pulled my car over and, smiling, said, "Oh, I see you need a bag. Here...."

I held out a plastic grocery bag. She said, "Oh, no, that's okay."

So I stopped smiling and said, "No, you really need a bag. A lot of people walk here and it's really gross."

She reached out, took the bag and thanked me.

You're welcome! And I found out that the Publix bags are biodegradable, so I just toss them into the sewer along the curb.

EDIT:
Okay, I don't really toss it into the sewer.

I've just read of a dog doo composter. Maybe we will try that. It's peer pressure that will ultimately solve the problem.

Maybe we should have some doggie bags printed up with our neighborhood logos and hand them out at the holidays or next neighborhood meeting/picnic! Too passive aggressive?
It is hard to have an enjoyable walk when the main goal is to avoid landmines.

You all covered it all!!! From sluring soup (yuk), shoveling food, ignorant dog walkers, baby butts on counters and the rude people on cells. Also people in restaurants on cells, shovelling their food while others get to listen to their conversations really get to me.

I have a thing about the simple niceties like saying "please" and "thank you." Those little phrases seem to have disappeared.

Where else are you going to hang your donut

I have a problem with folks who think they are to good to wait their turn, whether it is at the deli counter at the grocery store or in traffic when they have been told 1/2 mile back that they have to merge into one lane. They just wait till the last minute and expect you to let them in front of you.

Unruly kids in a restaurant. I actually started a thread on that one I was so mad.

Being from the south, I really appreciate "yes m'am" and "no m'am".

It drives me crazy when a child calls me by my first name or if a question is asked and their response is "yeah". Rrrrrrrrrrrr.

The unruly children at restaurants is puzzling to me. Why take children if they are unable to withstand the waiting? Also, if parents are willing to take the chance of taking children to a restaurant they need to be willing to take the chance that they may need to leave if the children act innapropriately. Parents leaving with naughty children is so rare. I may have witnessed it once or twice.

Unruly children and parents who don't correct them. It irks me to no end when I see children running loose in a restaurant. My s-i-l was taking her daughter out for her birthday dinner and daughter was bringing her 2 children-well my s-i-l said we can't go anywhere nice as they are so out of control and make such a mess. What pleasure is there in that? Not for just the parents but other diners.
