My (one of

my) pet peeves is when parents let their children misbehave in a restaurant. (I always have to look the word up in the phonebook! lol) I see it very often. Kids being loud, rude, getting out of their seats, yelling at their parents - and the parents letting the children run the show. If my kids acted like that, they'd be taken to the "Ladies Room" (which is quite different than "going potty").
My children are very well behaved in public, especially when out to eat. I am willing to overlook it if their elbows are on table, if they are sitting quietly and saying please and thank you. Often times, wait staff and other patrons will come to our table to comment on their behavior. I am glad when that happens, because I wouldn't want to know that my kids ruined someone's meal.
