On his way back to Palm Beach County we met again at the Waffle House. He had made an offer on a house and would hear from his Realtor upon his return home. Neither NAH or his father have a cell phone.

NAH and I met almost monthly as he made trips to his new home to make needed repairs and updates. He DID find the 50k home in Oil City, PA. and his desire to prove to the world that he was right about being able to find an affordable home pushed him to learning to drive. His folks rarely took out the car, so he had full reign over the 2001 Pontiac. On one of his trips he noticed a field of cotton that had been harvested. Many good heads of cotton still remained on the stem, having slipped through the measured fingers of the harvester.

Of course you know the rest…..each trip he would stop along the side of the road in rural Georgia, gather the unpicked bolls and, upon his arrival in Oil City, stuff them into the holes found in the walls throughout the house.

Good to know so many of you remember him. He did speak of you Cosmic. It was as though you were an older brother, gone away to college. He will be back at the Waffle House waiting to meet with me on April 1. We usually like to get there before the lunch crowd, between 10:45 and 11:00. If any of you want to surprise NAH, let me know and I will get the larger booth.

You all can jest and poke fun. Methinks there is a hint of jealousy afoot.

Qbaby- I see no need for physical contact, as I am past breeding age. NAH has kept some of his stuffed animals and is particularly fond of a three-foot tall plush Mama Smurf. It accompanies him everywhere and he has found it a satisfying cuddle partner.

Yes, I will pay the tab for our CD Waffle House April 1 bash. Of course, you will have to order off of a limited menu. No steak and eggs or any of the pricier items.

HDL- yes, you have been my muse. My life has been grayscale of late. I once posted a thread about wanting to find my muse and almost got burned at the stake for being a dependent sissy-girl.

Default True Or False????

I have struggled to read between the lines in this little drama saga since day one and I'm still unsure about who and what is really true?

I can't decide between my gullible self that believes someone like NAH really could be so detached from the modern world

or

the cynical self that says you're all just pulling my chain.

Either way it's been fun and entertaining, so whatever the truth I'm still LOL!

Once upon a time there was a NAH here. And what a time it was. The rest is..... well, reminiscing with a touch of truth and fantasy.

How and where has everyone been ????????
Yo hey QBaby!!! Thanks for the reps from you and HDL. How on earth did you all manage to rouse Cosmic? Here're all my favorite peeps from the olden days all in one thread. Hi Ms. Cats! Hi HIF. I like pecan waffles.

Ms. Boonies, you should come up to the big city and we'll dodge gangstas. You too HIF and HDL. The others of you I don't know as well, come on over.

I've gotta clean house for company and get ready for a night out on the town. Once I gave up hours of city-data I got my social life back. That's it.

Ain't that funny, how that happens.
I too got out into the real world a bit and got myself one of those J O B's. But the butt still somewhat resembles my office chair.

Dodging gangstas sounds like fun, kinda. Haven't done that since I left S.Fla.

So Miss Ellie.......... have you found that special someone yet ??? Could that be what has been keeping you away ?????

Default Plot thickens

well good to hear the boy finally made it to Fab Oil City. I suppose it does have to remain an undisclosed location. Love that cotton story. Maybe weevils will be breeding in the walls in OC in future.

It is like Ms. Ellie sezs, if you get a real life, then you don't have a lot more time for NeverLand. I spend a lot more time on the road now. Did finally finish off restoration of the Road Shack. Would like to find some land and build a new house, figured no problem for $50K. Lots of stories in the Big City.

Good to hear nothing really changes and the boy did not have to sell off the animals. Is taking a stuffed animal across state lines for the purpose of a cuddle legal and all???

Not sure of that part about HIF and breeding. I did spend part of the winter in FL again this year. Found no place where a fellow could get a free chicken sandwich or extra gas money tho. There are some things only the locals know about.

HIF why does the boy say he took it on the lame and disappeared into the haze of Oil City. Didn't he know this was the best place to get all the required advice a new homeowner will need. Actually if he got the cash from daddy to buy might do something not a lot of folks do these dazes, own the old shack out right. Kick back and enjoy that mountain air.

I haven't found anyone in particular, though I seem to go out often enough. Whenever I do go out with a likely prospect (whatever that is) I usually find several reasons he's not what I'm looking for.

Last weekend, for example, a fellow I've known for years invited me to the picture show. We had a real nice time and we'll probably go out again.

Trouble is, I'm not sure if I have time. After doing all my Saturday morning chores, I didn't have time today to drive across town to hear his band play at an afternoon event and then rush back downtown for something I'd already scheduled for 4:30. Then I'm meeting up with a gf for dinner and drinks.

What I need is a nap and some down time.

And, like you, I have a "real job" where I sit in front of the computer, usually doing something productive where surfing the internet is not encouraged.

And in RL I have a house, a yard, pets, and a sofa that's calling my name...

But I do so miss the fun we all used to have together, and that's the REAL truth.
