Default Todays question Tuesday 4-08-08

Good morning everyone
Happy Tuesday
Spring break is over so it is back to school today for "butterfly" class.
Today we are going to be making Hydroponic garden bins with the kids out in the butterfly garden
hmmm 2 classes of 30 2nd graders and water this should be a very interesting class lol lets see if Ms. Karla can stay dry
So how about a fun question, for today I am using one of my 2nd graders favorite expressions when I ask

Todays question:

What was the "bestest" surprise you have ever had ?

lol I have a feeling I am going to be hearing that a lot at school today

Ms Karla this is the "bestest" butterfly class ever lol just wait till next week when we do "warming up to worms"

Today in history:

April 8, 1766 1st fire escape patented, wicker basket on a pulley and chain

April 8, 1879 Milk was sold in glass bottles for 1st time

Word of the day:

voluble \VOL-yuh-buhl\, adjective:
1. Characterized by a ready flow of speech.
2. Easily rolling or turning; rotating.
3. (Botany) Having the power or habit of turning or twining.
lol can you guess which one describes me

Today is:

National Empañada Day
it is also
National Zoo Lovers Day

When my hubby proposed to me! The way he did it was very surprising! He actually attached the ring to the 9 on my 19 birthday candle. When the family sang happy birthday, and I blew out the candle, He insisted I remove the candles right away. The nine seemed to be stuck at first, but only had a whopper of ring on a string attached.
That was 17 years ago friday.

My bestest surprise was finding out I was pregnant with my son.

Love the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans!

Last year my husband surprised me with a trip to Vegas for my birthday. We always go in July for our anniversary and that tripped had already been booked.

My mom was in on it and the mom and dad of the little girl I watch were also. She had been picked up early that day and when I turned around after closing the door, my birthday card was on the couch. I commented that it was 2 days before my birthday. DH said he wanted to give it to me that day. When I read it it said "Pack your bags because we are getting on(picture of the plane we were going on)and flying to(picture of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign). One last question, where would you like to eat for your birthday?" I was stunned and it took a minute to soak in. I kept thinking about our trip in July and that's what he meant. The birthday question didn't even register. Then the "lies" that I was told for the reason of the little one getting picked up early sunk in and everything made sense and I started to cry.

DH and I know each other so well and have the same ideas all the time that it's pretty much impossible to surprise one another. This was probably the 2nd time he was able to do that in our 10 year marriage. It was all good..

When my hubbie gave me a purse for Christmas and inside were airline tickets to go and visit my elderly father whom I had not seen in 10 years. We left just a couple of days after Christmas and stayed a week. What a wonderful time!! That was the BESTEST!!!!

My bestest surprise was when my hubby told me I could have "Gator" my pug. We were at some friend's house and the puppies were 5 or 6 weeks old. Hubby said we traveled to much to have another dog. Then after some time past he went in picked up Gator and said, "I traded the go-cart for the puppy". Boy was I surprised and very happy!

I would have to say it was when my kids were born. I had the chance to learn whether they were going to be boy or girl prior and chose to let it be a surprise. Each kid was what I had hoped for too. (2 girls and a boy).
PS....What the heck is an empanada?
