Todays question Sunday 4-13-08
Good morning everyone
Happy Sunday !!
Because I was so late yesterday I am making sure to post this early
I have to say thanks to everyone who sent me little notes making sure I was ok, I have said it before but we have the "bestest" bunch of folks here
"group hug"
So yesterday morning when our "post delaying friend" stopped by, I couldn't figure out why she was laughing when I opened the door. Then I realized I had forgotten about the new doormat hubby found. So I am sure you all know what I am going to ask in
Todays question:
What does your doormat say or look like?
Extra credit : How many doormats do you have around the house?
Today in history:
April 13, 1963 Pete Rose triples for his 1st major league base hit
and 21 years later
April 13, 1984 Pete Rose becomes 1st NL to get get 4,000 hits in a career
Word of the day:
piker (PY-kur) noun
A stingy person, a cautious gambler, or one who does things in a small way.
Today is:
National Peach Cobbler Day
and
Blame Someone Else Day
also lets not forget
International Plant Appreciation Week

We were in bed bath & beyond last weekend and I found MR Karla laughing in the doormat aisle. Next thing you know it came home with us
So now the mat at our front door says "LEAVE"
Gotta love his sense of humor
So I counted for the extra credit part of the ? rofl I have a lot of doormats
5 counting the new one
I have one from the patio into the house
one right inside the door from the patio, this is the door the dogs use so we have 2 shots of catching anything on their paws
one in the screenroom in front of the sliding door that lead into the bedroom
one inside the door from the garage into laundryroom
no wait 6 because I also have one right in front of the door that leads from the garage into the laundry room

Three doors, three door mats (well, really four since the patio one is a two-piece). Front door mat is a cocoa type that birds love to steal from to build nests, and has a turtle painted on it. Unfortunately the paint has faded over the years and perhaps I'm the only one who knows it's a turtle - was a gift from my aunt who has an excellent memory to remember I like turtles, so because of sentimental reasons I'm still using it.

Front door: hideous faded floral thing--we really need something new.
Back door: pawprints bordering these words: Wipe Your Paws.

One industrial size black mat in the garage. The door leads into the house. Has to be huge because of the two dogs, snow, grit, rain etc that my dogs collect on their walks!

Ours looks like it needs to be replaced! But I am going to blame my hubby for that!
Have a happy, happy Sunday all. Today is my son's 13th birthday party & he is going to d.j. for the first time for his friends. Maybe I should replace that welcome mat before 3:30, hugh?

2 doormats: 1 on the inside of the front door is just a cheep black thin one.
the one on the outside of th door is a think one with autumn colors on it. it's a pop of color on the outside of a boring colored house, and a tatse of what's to come inside...

I have a co-worker who is a complete doormat to his wife. I think he says "I'm sorry" a lot.
Our door mat says Wipe your Paws, but it got shredded when I ran over it with the rider lawn mower.
We only have that one I think. But who needs a doormat when you live way out in the boonies and no one comes to visit anyway!
