I have been restrain myself from buying off of the TV. My mother is a QVC addict.

A girl I used to work with bought the pills that are supposed to make your boogs grow. Well, she took them for a month or so with no results. So, she decided she would call and complain and try to get her money back. Not only did she not get her money back, they actually convinced her into buying 3 more bottles!!! A few months later, she went and got implants.

Nope, never bought a "saw on TV product" but then again for ten years or so I didn't watch television.

Now that I've tuned back into the Box, I see how one could get excited about a product that can dance, sing and clean without much help.

Yet, I doubt it will do it in my house.

Yup, I have succumbed. I am now the proud owner of "Green Bags" in two sizes. Like the lady said on TV, I was tired of throwing out produce that had seen better days so I picked up the phone... That was an excursion through hell! It took almost 20 minutes of hitting the "NO" button about all the supplemental things I didn't want to buy before we even got to the green bags part. I would have killed for a "to bypass all this crap and go straight to the purchase of the thing you're trying to buy" option. So I completed my transaction and three weeks later the bags arrived. What was extra creepy was that the package came addressed to my husband who knew nothing about the whole deal (until then). It seems that when I placed the call, their very sophisticated caller ID system pulls up the listed owner of the phone and somehow the credit card purchase gets them the mailing address (I was never asked for my address during the purchase). So anyway, the bags show up. What they are careful not to show you during the TV demo, is how skinny these bags are. Unless you are preserving celery, green onions or rhubarb, these bags aren't designed for your produce. I do put things like strawberries, lemons, and other small things that can be rolled into the bags and even tomatoes on the counter but no way does lettuce fit and most fruit is too big also. Why couldn't they just make the darn things in a conventional size and shape like Zip-Lock bags?

So, that was my one and only experience with buying from an infomercial and it was a great object lesson about what not to do. But as for the Oxyclean, I can't imagine life without it. I buy it in the jumbo size at Sam's Club.

I didn't fall for any of them, but DH did. He got that set of plastic storage containers that fit in the little Lazy Susan. But wait...there's more! The first set is $19.95 +S&H. If you order a second set, it's free, you just pay S&H. You know how much those 2 sets +S&H cost him??? $98. Yep. They never tell you when you order it. We both went thru the roof when the Visa bill came in. Oh, well.... live and learn. Oh, and I gave the 2nd set away and barely ever use the 1st set. They're weird sizes.
I bought this at Wal-Mart and Oxyclean rocks!!

I absolutely LOVE the information that flows from these questions!

Is anyone interested in a slightly used George Foreman grill? How about a Flowbee haircutter? Maybe a couple of Space Bags? Some Nadz? No? Not even some Tai Bo exercise tapes?

Charley

Oh ... and that Mighty Putty does not work. My son tried it on a few different applications. Skip it.

I don't remember purchasing any "as seen on TV" item, but I probably have. It was probably thrown out when I rented a couple of 20 yrd dumpsters and threw a bunch of stuff away a couple of years ago.
