I get your point, but a dog running loose on the highway... it's hard for me to blame them.
I've lived my whole life being one of those "bleeding heart liberals" or "animal lovers" that everyone gets irritated over. I've learned to try and look at myself and be objective, but, again, in this case, it's a little doggy in danger. I don't understand why they stopped their cars in active highway lanes (I would have pulled off the highway), but maybe they weren't thinking right while panicking over the dog. Kind of hard to berate people's reactions in times of panic, especially over the welfare of a dog; dogs are the best.
Anyway, I don't have a beef here. Just saying...
I know, thanks for your comments. It was a bad situation all the way around. I hope the dog's o.k. .... probably smarter than the women. (Dog is a great big long legged pure white poodle)
People who use even the very distant threat of a possible hurricane to close city/state/national parks. Come on! It’s obvious you just want to save a buck or two.
This past weekend we stayed on <a certain island>and had hoped to visit <a certain NWR>. But they were closed due to hurricane Dorian. OK — this was on Saturday and the hurricane is not even going to arrive until Wednesday, if it arrives at all. Also, not only was this NWR closed 4 days early, but they were 150 miles outside of the “cone of uncertainty.” The weather was absolutely perfect. They didn’t even have the courtesy to post the closing online, so we went all that way for nothing. So incredibly frustrating!

I would have liked it if you posted which National Wildlife Refuge you are referring to.
I have a good idea! How about you give the solutions?
On this topic, I feel the same, I get so many attacking my good info and their minds are so closed to so much. I ignore so many of them NOW, finally. I keep posting and someone may "get it"..
We have access to 3 or 4 television stations within a 60-70 mile radius, which give us local weather reports. How come their daily predictions about rain all differ? And how come they use vague wording like:
"there may be a stray shower here or there, or maybe not"
"this area may have some popup showers, or maybe not"
"I wouldn't rule out taking the umbrella to work today, just in case"
I want to complain about my neighbor. We both live alone and we became friends a few years ago after I went to her house for help when I locked myself out of my Jeep. To make a very long story short, she got into an argument with the brand new neighbor when she was at my house. It was completely her fault and I haven't even met the neighbor yet so now she thinks I have people visiting me that are crazy/racist against black women/just completely insane and I need to fix this situation. Any suggestions? I am done with the crazy neighbor btw.
Edit to add: Crazy neighbor is never going to apologize for herself and her actions, so I need to know how to diffuse this situation with the new neighbor without approaching her because she may think I'm trying to pick a fight. Help!
Can you bring her a housewarming gift? Like a potted plant (if she doesnt have pets that would eat it) or leave a greeting card on her door, welcome to the neighborhood, sorry for the rough start. Maybe leave out that last part.
