Default Todays question Friday 4-18-08

Good morning
happy Friday everyone
It is going to be a beautiful day here in NEFL high 79
I was thinking how nice it would be to sit out in the screenroom this afternoon with a good book. I haven't had much time lately to indulge myself in this favorite pastime, which made me wonder and resulted in

Todays question:

Are you a "reader" ?

Bonus question: Do you ever "reread" your favorites ?

Because I can't be the only one who does this, extra credit ?

If the book is part of a "series" or follows a certain character,do you have to read them in "order"

Wow I am making you all work hard on a Friday

Today in history:

April 18, 1924 1st crossword puzzle book published
April 18, 1934 1st "Washateria" (laundromat) opens (Ft. Worth, Texas)

Word of the day:

inveigle \in-VAY-guhl; -VEE-\, transitive verb:
1. To persuade by ingenuity or flattery; to entice.
2. To obtain by ingenuity or flattery.

Today is
:

National Animal Crackers Day
and
International Jugglers Day

This is also National Yo Yo weekend (18-20)

Are you a "reader" ? I am a big time reader I will read pretty much anything

Bonus question: Do you ever "reread" your favorites ?
All the time,it is like visiting an old friend.
If it is a "series" book and it has been a few years since the last one,I have been known to go back and read all the previous books right before the new one come out.

lol Yup , should I pick up a book and realize while reading it that there were previous ones I will go and buy them and read them to "catch up"

I love books and I love reading! Always have at least two books on the go. I've currently got three cooking. I do re-read many books and have gone and bought others in the series.

Hmmm, Washateria ... that reminds me, I gotta do laundry.

I love to read books again and again. At night, I'll curl up in my rocker, open up an old favorite wherever and read until I'm sleepy. I'll also read it again from cover to cover -- I'm always amazed at what details I've forgotten, or didn't notice in the first place.

And to be honest, I can't think of any series books I've ever read!

I like to read, but I'm a slow reader, so I don't tend to re-read books very often. I usually have 2 books going, one fiction, one non-fiction. It's the non-fiction that I may reread after a few years.

I am a writer and a reader! I love, love, love to read. I also read more than one at a time. Usually one for pleasure and two or three for research. I often re-read books, or parts of books for research & accuracy. I'm not much for series reading, though. For pleasure I enjoy Dean Koontz & Stephen King - love the horror/scary genre!!

So many great books and so little time. I go through 2 newspapers each day and tons of internet stuff which includes City Data. I average about a novel a week these days. After 30+ years, I reread John Knowles' A Separate Peace this past winter. I can't think of another novel I've ever done this with.
