If it is lights out for too long, I need the 30 pack if the wife is around .
Ooops, did I just say that out loud?
In all honesty though, she is the woman to have around in a real emergency, level headed, and being charge in an Emergency Room, she can patch holes and fix physical problems that may arise during a true emergency situation. As for me though, if I had to limit it to ONE thing to have around in that situation, I would pick a good heavy bladed work knife. If I can have more I would like a good light source and a few morsels of food to start off with.

I keep my tent and some bedding in my trunk at all times, I did need it once in an emergency. I just feel better with it in there.

My first thought was duck or duct tape, but then I remembered I like the extra $20 bucks hidden away in my wallet.
However the tape is important too.

OK I'll be silly here but oh well it's true...
I have to always have eggs, milk, bread, flour, sugar and coffee in the house. Now that isn't an emergency of any sort. But if I'm out of any of those; I run to the grocery as if it were.

I panic if I have less than a whole package of TP in the house. Silly, but true.
Seriously, in a real emergency, I want the hubster around. He's my rock.
