Nothing like ice cream on a warm NYC evening except perhaps watermelon.

I don't think it hurt them!

It certainly didn't hurt me.

Same here. I have never ordered dessert first, but I have ordered ice cream sundae instead of dinner!

At the Cheesecake Factory I believe it's proper protocol to order dessert first.

Is "proper protocol" redundant? It's too early in the morning to try to resolve that issue.

Karla, you need to be the one who's in charge of thinking up these special weeks. I'll vote for you.

*moment of silence for the Polaroid camera* One of the joys of my childhood.

I remember my parents doing this as well. And do you remember when those pics came out of the camera, they had a distinct odor about them.

I do not order dessert first either. Hardly eat it after eating a meal. Funny you should mention this though, I got my son from school Thursday and decided to treat us to Sonic. I had not had lunch even! I asked him what he wanted and he says banana split, cheeseburger and tots. Funny, he put the dessert first. I tried to make him wait and order 'after' he finished, but no, he said he liked the ice cream a bit melted.

He, as I figured, ate all of his stuff. I cannot fill him up.

And Karla, I spent 6 hours on my landscaping this weekend as well. Got the sore muscles to prove it too!

I never get dessert when I go out to eat ... I like sweets, but not that much. I'd much rather have mozz. sticks to start off my meal! Then a good ribeye to come after that!

Seldom eat desserts and never order them at the beginning of a meal.

Never have ordered dessert first, always say I am going to but never do! I will have to put this on my list of things to do "someday".

Once in awhile, we will eat a small meal at home and then go a restaurant late evening and just have a desert.

I've ordered it first at this restaurant back north where they have homemade pies and you had to before somebody else got your piece! But I ate the meal first. I've been known to eat coconut cream pie instead of breakfast. I should do that sometime soon.
