Todays question Monday 4-21-08
Good morning everyone
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
After I spent 6 hours playing landscaper in the garden yesterday my sweet dear hubby said lets go out to eat
When we were finished eating the server came up and asked the time honored question "Did you save room for dessert"
Of course after finishing a very yummy bacon cheeseburger there was "No room left"
Though it got me thinking and because we all know with me that can be dangerous here is
Todays Question:
Have you ever ordered dessert first when you have gone out to eat?
You know what !! I think I am going to add my own special holiday for this week (check below)
Today in history:
April 21,1940 - The radio program, Take It or Leave It, was first heard on CBS radio on this day. Bob Hawk offered contestants a top prize of $64. No, there were no lovely parting gifts or consolation prizes. Losers just left.
April 21, 1948 1st Polaroid camera was sold in US hmmm if it had only come out 8 years earlier
Word of the day:
chimera \ky-MIR-uh\, noun:
1. (Capitalized) A fire-breathing she-monster represented as having a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail.
2. Any imaginary monster made up of grotesquely incongruous parts. That hides in closets and under kids beds
Today is :
National Chocolate-Covered Cashew Truffle Day
it is
National TV-Turnoff Week (21 to 27)
and the newly created
Karla's special "National Order Desert First Week" (21 to 28)

I don't think I have ever done that, Karla! But it is a good idea, since when I am done eating I don't want dessert!
I could just order a small dessert, then a huge salad... would one cancel the other out????
Happy Day....

I have never order dessert first. I rarely eat dessert though.
And sure cinder if you eat a salad and then dessert it will cancel the other out. So, go for it.

No, I have never ordered dessert first, and I seldom order it afterwards.
(I have never owned or used a Polaroid camera.) I use a digital Canon now. :-)

I keep telling hubby that I am going to do this now. I have an excuse with this week bring "order desert first week"
I use to like to watch the folks shaking or waving the polaroid pictures when they came out of the camera. I read somewhere that it did not make them develop faster

Good Morning y'all Yes, karla. we have ordered desert 'with' our meal if it was something special that we wanted. Esp. at Applebees! But no, never ate it first. So I guess that wouldn't count.
Really got into Polaroid cameras many years ago. Used them for real estate for awhile as well as our 35mm cameras. Used them for family reunions also. Had a lot of fun with them. Owned a few over the years and actually have most of them. The 'Business' models, esp. The first ones, you had to 'swipe' a sealer over the photo! Now that was fun.

Yes, if it's a special dessert that the restaurant typically runs out of. And those chocolate bomb cakes that take 30 minutes to cook, you have to order those first. Yummie!
