I don't have a favorite outside chore, although my least non favorite is hosing down the house in Spring.
I am in a position where I can't do much in the way of outside chores, because I'm allergic to grass and during the spring and summer up here there seems to always be someone mowing their lawn.

Today in history:
April 22, 1914 Babe Ruth's 1st professional game (as a pitcher) is a 6-hit 6-0 win
April 22, 1970 1st Earth Day held internationally to conserve natural resources
Word of the day:
lionize \LY-uh-nyz\, transitive verb:
To treat or regard as an object of great interest or importance.
Today is:

it is also

I like mowing the lawn, raking leaves, shoveling snow, and snow blowing because I can tell progress is being made. All the other chores seem like drudgery because there's no immediate payoff. Worse yet, there may be no payoff because of too much sun, too little water, bad seeds, too much shade, too little water, animals either eating or trampling the results of my efforts, wrong fertilization, etc. I wasn't taught anything lawn and garden work, and I'm too lazy to invest the time and effort into learning how to do it properly, so the results of my efforts are hit-and-miss.
In Alaska, it seems like there is a whole lot of effort expended with so little payoff since our growing season comes and goes in the blink of an eye. I'd probably make more of an effort if I lived where flowers were around for a longer period of time.

What is your favorite "outside" chore ?
Trimming hedges and shrubbery. I don't have to bend or put any stress on my back or knees. Actually my REAL favorite outside chore is sitting in my favorite outside chair and relaxing, but it's hard for others to accept that as a chore.
What is your least favorite outside chore?
Shoveling snow, raking and bagging leaves, mowing the lawn.
Happy Earth Day everyone!

Enjoy the Earth (to)Day!!! Isn't it beautiful? The pictures from space always amaze me. And Google earth.
Love planning and planting . Hate mowing. Love watering. Not too fond of raking.
Always have jelly beans around. 41 flavour type is good!!!

I never tried maple before, of course I live in a desert region, so we don't have maple trees here!

LOL.. You can borrow my 12-gauge shotgun, that'll definitely kill weeds, and bugs! I guess that's killing two birds with one stone.. or shot..
