Todays question Tuesday 4-22-08
Good morning everyone
Happy Earth Day !!!
I have noticed that there are a lot of folks that have been venturing outside starting the "spring clean up"
So with that and the fact that it is Earth Day I am curious to see how you answer
Todays question:
What is your favorite "outside" chore ?
and because inquiring minds want to know, I will also ask
What is your least favorite outside chore?
Today in history:
April 22, 1914 Babe Ruth's 1st professional game (as a pitcher) is a 6-hit 6-0 win
April 22, 1970 1st Earth Day held internationally to conserve natural resources
Word of the day:
lionize \LY-uh-nyz\, transitive verb:
To treat or regard as an object of great interest or importance.
Today is:
National Jelly Bean Day
it is also
Earth Day !!

Believe it or not, I really like mowing the lawn. Great upper body work-out. My least favorite would have to be scooping up the samples our dog leaves for us on the front lawn.

I suppose I'm weird ... I like digging 'cause it means I'm going to be planting! After the weekend I can honestly say without a doubt that I hate removing river rock. You rake and rake and feel like you are getting nowhere!

Happy Earth Day
One of my favorite days of the year!
My favorite outdoor chore? Probably planting, and tending to plants, whether it's watering or pruning or raking mulch around them or just 'crooning' to them. That may be what kills the poor things. Right up there, with planting, might be filling all of the bird feeders.
Least favorite? Probably edging the walks and driveway. It is hard work. I also hate weeding -- so much easier just to spread fertilizer with the herbicide in it, but neither is good for the environment. I recall a neighbor of ours, growing up, who sat in her yard, in a wide-brimmed hat, on a stool, and she weeded by hand, the beds and the lawn.
National Jelly Bean Day. How very cool -- one of my favorite little sweet treats on one of my favorite days. I'm surprised the marketers aren't on to this, selling packs of blue and green ones in little globes.
What year did Earth Day begin? I was there.

 Happy Earth Day!
My favorite outdoor chore is (although I don't like chores in general) weeding the garden, so all my beautiful flowers can find their way through.
Least favorite...everything else...especially poop piles, I have huge dogs! Huge dogs = huge poop piles.

My favorite-watching grass grow!
Hard to plant here as house is landscaped with river rock all around but has flowering shrubs.
Love planting and tending to the many baskets we hang on the front porch and pergola over the deck.
Jelly Beans-I'll pass.

Mine used to be tilling the garden, but I am not up to doing that anymore....so, I guess it is just tidying things up as I mosey around the yard.
Most of my plantings are now in pots, placed on the deck to keep the hooved rodents from devouring them!

Outside fave is easy - play with my dog. He's such a character. Next favorite thing is watering the plants.
Least favorite is washing the car - too much bending and back work. Not a good thing.
Let's hear a round of applause for jelly beans!

I am just back in from my least favorite outdoor project weeding lol I was trying to get the weeding done in the front before the yard waste pick up guys came by
whew made it !!
Mowing is my favorite and know that the edger & I have come to an "understanding" it has been elevated form least favorite to "boy look at that edge" !!!!!
Later this week I will experience the "adventure" of putting down a pallet of pine bark mulch lol not sure where that is on the list but I have a feeling in the middle of the project it is not going to be "favorable"
