Today in history:

2.to make an outcry or clamor.

Yesterday
I went to a casino about 90 minutes from home, treated myself and my wife to the buffet lunch (and I made healthy choices ), then we hit the slot machines and took home just under $3,000. I won the "progressive" which at that moment was worth $2,944 ... so I left with the cash, a jackpot winner's t-shirt, and the form to be used when I pay my taxes so Uncle Sam can get his share of my winnings.
I'd have to say that was definitely something nice for myself, my wife and Uncle Sam!

I went to the beach last week, but spent a good part of the week cooking and babysitting. That was O. K. because it was my intention. DIL is having a difficult time with the new baby coming soon. We were trying to give her a break. Keep her in your prayers, please. It is not easy trying to keep up with a two year old and expecting another baby.
I would really like a good drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I did a college paper once where the question was something like what is your ideal way to restore yourself. My answer was "Drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway with the windows down and classical music playing on the radio." I have to do this at least twice a year, or I feel deprived.

I'll try not to yammer on too long....I haven't done anything for myself, and haven't for a very long time. If I could do a me day today, I would go get a haircut and a few outfits for the office. And it would be nice to take the family to Red Lobster for dinner.
LOVE SWEET, Love Little Willy

She has mine! I have been there, done that, got the t-shirt!
My kids are very close in age, and I had my share of car seats, diaper bags, diapers, (especially the poopy kind) - all the while being preggers with another. Best of luck to her, she's lucky to have you!

Checking out of a motel Tue and someone else checking out was having trouble coming up with the money to pay her bill. I made up the difference and made it very clear that I was not looking for anything in return.
I have often seen a couple of senior citizens or a soldier in uniform in a restaurant and anonomously picked up their tab. It really is better to give than receive. Sorry Karla, I don't do mulch

I made my garden look a lot nicer and that is something nice for me since I get to thoroughly enjoy it, as do my neighbors
