Question What did you get for Christmas?

So how well did you make out this year ?

After it all was over, I recieved:

$300 in various gift cards
a 30 gig iPOD
fruitcake (inside joke in our family)
13 bottles of wine
a few dvd's
and $500 in cash

But my favorite item was a brand new Rolex Submariner from my father.

What's your haul?

My "haul" was spending Christmas with the ones I love, celebrating the reason for the season, and enjoying an excellent meal. It has been a delightful holiday season thus far.

As most of you know, I don't celebrate Christmas... but I got a few trinkets too! We're not into the huge present-exchange, so we generally keep things small & simple - which is more than fine with me. Haven't gotten gifts from my sister & 2 best friends yet, since we're getting together later... but my brother gave me some Sephora stuff in "Strawberry Milkshake", and a shot-glass from his recent trip to Cuba (for my collection); my dad & step-mom gave me a gift card to Nordstrom, a pair of earrings & a shirt; my mother took me shopping for clothing last week; my neighbors gave the dog a few gifts (toys, a Christmas hat & bandana - very cute! ); and my grandma sent me a box of chocolates.

Like amjb said, it's not really about the gifts... so I was most happy to visit my brother in San Diego, since I haven't seen him for almost 6 months. Also got to meet his girlfriend for the first time, and she was really sweet. Hope you all had a good holiday!

The flu.
But I also got some CDs, some beautiful pottery, and a lovely gift basket of Italian delicacies.
It's been great having my brother in law visit. He is such a nice houseguest and he and my husband have had a good time together.

Speedy- don't forget to include the measuring cup!!!

I had to go back to Edit this because I forgot to mention: 13 is not a lucky number for some. I think you should subscribe to that idea, at least for now. You need to get rid of one of those bottles of wines and send it to me. That way you can have an even, lucky dozen. Also, my son will break in that Rolex for you but he really prefers a Breitling. Maybe your father could exchange it? Lol... J/K. Enjoy!

I got indigestion from Christmas dinner!

Oh, and an awesome pair of insulated coveralls, ceramic tile to finish off the bathroom we just put in, socks that have not been used as a tug toy by the dog, a really nice barrette, a nice set of placemats for my dining room table, some red glass cardinal ornaments, a set of measuring cups (which I asked for!), and $200 in various gift cards.

My critters made out like bandits! Grandma spoils them worse than I do.

Yes but I have a large family. And when you figure in the cost of the presents I purchased, I probably came out behind. I just can't wait for my credit card bill.

Actually they're only 5 bottles left, we drank the rest yesterday. But thanks for the word of warning.

"Santa" (aka Dad) gave me the Rolex and it'd be disrespectful to not take the gift with a smile on your face. And I don't want to disrespect the big man..but nice try. How about I remember you in my will instead...

I got two packs of boxer briefs (the only kind I wear ) in various colors...I normally wear white..but what the hay! I also got a new fleece zip-up light "jacket", five shirts in exactly the colors I like..light grey/blue, tan, dark navy blue, gray, and a light brown/olive. Then I got two IZOD lounge around pairs of microfiber top and flannel bottoms. There were also dress socks and a new highend saucepan I liked everything very much and I was amazed that the clothes were exactly what I would buy. Man..they know me so well!
Then for Christmas dinner, I was invited over by my neighbor, so I went over and his son and daughter's family were there. His daughter and her three daughters insisted I sit with them and they surrounded me for hours The roast and ham were terrific, the vegetables were horribly overcooked and mushy. When Larry's son (my neighbor's son) scooped up a serving of corn, we saw a paper in it...we looked closer and it was a 20% off coupon that had been in the bag of corn! Got a good laugh on that.
There was so much food. I enjoyed being with their family and it was very nice that they invited me
