Frick and Frack - the original pair
News came out this past week that the surviving member "Frick" of the duo team "Frick & Frack" passed away. Werner Groebli "Frick" along with Hansruedi (Hans) R. Mauch "Frack" entertained the world during the 1930's and '40's, and later on with their amazing and fun tricks on ice.

I caught this on CBS's Sunday Morning just a bit earlier. I feel so old when the stars of yesterday pass on. Of course Frick and Frack were of my grandparents' generation, but because it was their generation, I was exposed to it as a child, myself.
I loved Frick and Frack, who became an expression in, and of, themselves, didn't they? or is the expression, 'frick-and-frack' older?

Yea, I heard the news earlier, but also per my Sunday morning routine watch that show too [got that from my pop ], which reminded me of this.
From what I can tell, this saying "frick and frack" did indeed originate from this pair: World Wide Words: Frick and Frack

I always heard the term but never understood how, why or where it came from. Very interesting link.

I remember a period of time when a coworker and I were both assigned to the same job for over a year in the corporate office building. That’s one of the times when I would hear the expression from others at the office “well here comes Andy and Randy the Frick and Frank boys” The two of use having the same last names and only one letter off in the first name made things confusing. I would jokes with them and say that “Mom always like him better.”

Had not Heard this and had forgotten that his partner had died in 1979. Thank you for the links, ShadowCaver. I do remember their acts in movies I saw when I was a child. fun times they were. Innocent. True fun.
