Todays question Tuesday 4-29-08
Good morning everyone
It is a beautiful morning here in NE FL it is a sunny 62 with a nice breeze going up to 79
As a few of you from the exercise thread know I have been putting off going shopping for a dress for my nieces wedding. So at 6:45 am when the phone rang and I saw it was my sister I just knew today was going to be "dress shopping day"
She is the "omg the wedding is in 30 days you have to find a dress type" where as I am "30 days! heck I have a couple of weeks still type"
So I though hmmmm I wonder and ended up with
Todays question?
Are you "get it done in advance" or "wait till the last minute" type ?
Extra credit: Are you the same way in your personal life as in your professional life ?
Today in history:
April 29, 1852 1st edition of Peter Roget's Thesaurus published
April 29, 1961 ABC's "Wide World of Sports, debuts
April 29, 1990 Wrecking cranes began tearing down Berlin Wall at Brandenburg Gate
Word of the day:
argus (AHR-guhs) noun
An alert and observant person; a watchful guardian.
Today is:
National Shrimp Scampi Day
since the above is not on my "approved selective eater" list I am making up my own day
National M&M's Day !!
It is also
National Dance Day !!!
and lets not forget
National Hairball Awareness Day -though those that have cats are already very aware

As far as business type things go: job, projects, paying bills etc. I am a get it done in advance type
As far as the personal stuff well lol
along with the above mentioned dress shopping I guess I lean more toward the "last minute" type
We decided 10 days before we left on a cruise that we would get married on the cruise
talk about last minute running around not only did I have to go cruise clothes shopping in those 10 days but had to find a dress, find out how one gets married in the Caymans and make the arrangements.
I am a very "productive" last minute person. Give me months and I dawdle give me a short time frame and I can be a "whirlwind"

I like to get things done right away, my wife is the opposite.

The same at work, get it done.

I like getting stuff done in advance both professional and personal. I hate last minute stuff for the most part and I hate being late or people who are late.

Good morning, All! I'm DEFINITELY the "mañana is soon enough for me" type when it comes to my personal life. (My wife is definitely a "Get it done" kinda woman) At work, I tend to hustle and get everything done as soon as possible (the sooner I get to go home!) Motivation from the law helps in that regard, too
(BTW, I'm sure glad that Larry the Cable Guy one-liner is almost dead...)
Karla, I've got an idea for tomorrow's question: How many of you IMMEDIATELY thought of the skier that felt "the agony of defeat" when you read that today in 1961 was the first broadcast of ABC's "Wide World of Sports"?
BTW, I was fortunate to be stationed in Germany when the Berlin Wall fell; what an awesome event!

I'm definetly a "get it done in advance" person. I'll start packing for a trip a week before we go. I hate having to wait to pack the last minute stuff. I actually have a container that I keep shampoo/conditioner, soaps, and all other toiletries so I don't have to pack and unpack them. It's our travel container. Yes, I can be anal. My husband actually loves how organized I am.
I can't really say anything job wise. I watch a 4 year old girl, so there isn't much to do an advance with that. If it's a day for her to do a project, then yes I have that ready in advance.
I don't think I'll ever be a last minute gal.

All depends on what it is that I have to get done. Most of the time I just do it and get it out of the way. At work it gets done right away, hate having stuff on desk!

I am right there with you.
And yeah ... I'm well aware of hairballs.
I've always wanted to try to vacuum the cats. Wonder how they'd like that?
