ever wonder what the minimum specs for an outhouse construction should be? Don't you think brick is a good example of overbuilding?

Now to the sayings.....

Poor planning on your part does not make an emergency on my part.

A stitch in time saves nine.....unless I am doing the stitching, of course.

Every time I see the word 'molasses,' I can't help but remember a cute little ditty my mother-in-law (is that what an MIL is, BTW?) used to say. She is near 90, and says her Mother used to give her THE look for this one:

"Three little moles ran down three little holes, and all you could see was molasses."

It is. When the hole fills up you have to move the outhouse to a newly dug hole and finish filling in the old one. Brick is too heavy. BTW, it's a good idea to fence around the old hole until it's all settled. Stepping in the area before it's completely done settling and has been refilled as needed can be a disheartening experience.

happier than a pig in mud

Happy as a dead pig in the sunshine. (doesn't grasp or worry what's going on)

Holler like a stuck pig. (someone mislead you)

Go whole hog. (go for it all)

Go hog wild. (have a good time)

As easy as sliding off a greasy log backward. (very easy)

A good attitude is like Kudzu - it spreads.

So poor he'd have to borrow money to buy water to cry with.
