When people litter.
When I tell a telemarketer I'm not interested, they just keep talking.
When I receive three offers a day in the mail from Amex and already have two of their cards.
When someone pulls out in front of me driving and drives really slow, meanwhile there is noone behind me and they could have pulled out after I passed.

Drivers who smoke with their window cracked or down so the car doesn’t smell like smoke, and when they finish their cigarette they flip it out of the car where it burns the dry grass starting a fire or becomes litter with all the others.

I work for a home improvement center and what really gets me is when people just HAVE to open the boxes to see what the item looks like! HELLO??? There are pictures of the light, and all the parts that are included in the box. They open it anyway just to discover they dont like it after all. (It wouldnt be missing parts if people didnt open them in the first place, by the way, which sometimes they dont realize some small crucial necessary part is now missing somewhere under a shelf or somewhere because they now demolished everything in the package).Well, guess who has to seal it back up because people dont know how to pack it right, the way it was in the first place, so the box doesnt bulge...indicating that its been opened...then people dont want to buy the item because its been tampered with. The time it takes me to re-pack something, seal it nice, I could have been helping another customer with another issue. Thats just one peeve, I'll think of more in the morning. Just got home from a very busy night.

my dh worked in the lighing dept and he had the same pet peeve. his thing was they would open to see if all the parts were there, but then picked ANOTHER box to buy!!
1. customer doesnt even know what parts are supposed to be in there, so what are they even looking for if the box is sealed?
2. they then buy another box--but dont check for all the parts

you figure it out--cause he never could.

I have a lot of irritations. I will start small. LOL

When people get in the express lane with twice as much as the limit of groceries. Or, better yet...a full cart. What's even more insulting is when they see you with two items and they look you up and down and walk faster to get ahead of you and don't offer to let you go ahead of them.

Yep. Ceiling fans and our solar walkway lights are the worst for this type of thing. Arrrrgh!
Another thing I find amusing is someone passes you up, even though youre already exceeding the speed limit, and the light turns red. They still have to stop anyway! Guess they just wanted to beat me to the stoplight, lol.

I know what you mean. Someone will fly by me only to arrive at the stop sign at the same time, idiots.........

Livewire, if I hadn't seen your location, I thought you might be talking about me! Actually, the only reason I asked the clerk to open the box my porch light came in, was because something was rattling around in there, and I wanted to make sure it wasn't broke.

One thing drivers do that ticks me off is when they wait until they are in the turning lane to use their turn signal. Um, once you're in the turning lane, I already know you're going to turn!

Which brings me to my next irritation...those who drive with their blinkers on. LOL It's feast or famine around here...no signals at all or using them when they don't need them.

Im in the high desert but I have to agree, if something is rattling around in a box, thats another story. And I wasnt talking about you, but this happens frequently. We all know freight handlers arent the most careful. But these are customers who do open 'just to see' the item for real other than the picture. In fact, Im one who will suggest opening a box if its rattling, but then I can tell (with years of experience) the difference between the sound of broken parts and just parts in general that are just loose in the box. But by no means I was aiming towards you!
Another dislike is the bottles our products are coming in now. Notice the slimmer, 'curvier' shapes of shampoo, lotion, even water bottles? Ever compare the weight? It used to be 16 oz in a bottle of Suave conditioner...now with those curves, its less! Those 'curvy' more 'easier to handle' bottles are taking away one ounce of product by adding the new shape, and still charging the same amount. (Why do we need easier to handle shapes anyway, we've survived with the full sized GLASS bottles for years and years, now its all plastic and smaller). Thats a lot when the manufacturers are saving millions by doing that, and us consumers have to pay the same amount for less, basically. Arrowhead water bottles...we get an ounce less now with that new 'shape' but still pay the same. Coke classic. Stick deodorant. Even face cremes...smaller tubes, smaller labels make the tubes appear bigger. Geeze.
