National wine day??? Yahoo! Everyday around my house wine is celebrated! LOL
We will continue to hide out from all the vacationers that bombard the lake on holiday weekends. Although I think the weather has kept a lot of them away, it is quite cool around here (65 the high today). Plant some flowers and other neat plants I can find at the nursery. And take some time to remember our brave countrymen and women who risked their lives to ensure my freedoms. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

No special plans here. May grill some brats...(no, not our kids!) The other kind...(Johnsonville)... And good old Missouri Maull's BBQ sauce. Salads. Might even try a glass of MO wine. Bud Lite or Miller Lite. Sons call all 'lit' beers water.
Wishing y'all a very safe and sane Holiday. Did you know that 1800 veterans die every day? WWII to now. 1100 of them are WWII Veterans. A salute to all that have and are now serving. Thank you.
Livewire...hope you feel better. Toothaches are horrible.

Not much, it's supposed to be really stormy around here.
I gather from all this:
Word of the day :
mountebank \MOUN-tuh-bank\, noun:
1. A peddler of quack medicine, who stands on a platform to appeal to the audience.
2. A charlatan; a boastful pretender to knowledge or a skill.
Today is :
National Wine Day
and
National Tap Dance Day
it is also
International Sing-out Day! So does this mean we all have to sing while tap-dancing
and lets not forget
National Something day
That the picture I'm supposed to draw from it is:
A mountebank stands on a platform, starts to tap dance while chugging wine, tries to sing a boastful song and gives up, has something to say but can't remember it, falls off the stage, then pretends that it was part of the act.
I think I did that once in my youth (okay, twice).

Hey, NWV, sounds like fun. I've always wanted to try brats (not the kid kind). Are they closer to Keilbasa or Italian Sausage?

Would like to go to Riverside National Cemetery for the services, but gotta get there early because of traffic.
Then BBQ spareribs, local market had them on sale for $0.99/lb. Got 3 big slabs. Yummy.

Todays Question :
What are your plans for Memorial Day ?
Besides going out to the cemetery to decorate and clean the graves, nothing else is planned.

Actually neither...this link gives a better explanation than I could:
Bratwurst - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
coming from a German family (Mother's side) we served this often. Love it.

Tomorrow hubby and I are going to a ceremony at the VFW to commerate Memorial Day and there will be a bbq for the members and families. I always get teary eyed at these ceremonies but it's worth the tears! Remember what this day is for, to reconize the men and women who have fought for and died for our country!
