People who are unhappy in their location post on here to vent their feelings, not to be verbally beaten up by insensitive clods.
Is there something in the water or just general frustration in the country about the economy, etc.? Or are people becoming more rude and mean-spirited in general? Is it because so much of our population is relocating that areas are no longer as they were just a few years ago and this creates anxiety in the transplants, as well as the locals.
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts on the subject are...

Maybe, just maybe, those posters are sick and tired of those city-slamming "insensitive clods" slamming their fine city. Venting their feelings? It works both ways.
And why do you infer that only the "don't let the door "crowd is rude and mean-spirited? I think those that move to a city, don't like it, then come here and start dumping on it are rude and mean-spirited.

Good for you. I don't find it that easy to ignore. It seems every year people are less civil to each other. It makes the world a less pleasant place. There are so many bad things that happen--disasters, etc.--that to be kind to each other helps soften the hardships in life.

I have felt attacked when I have made a comment (not about anyONE, but about a PLACE). Some of these forums are very clique-y...it's like dealing with the Mean Girls.

It really depends on where you post. Some forums are actually friendlier than others, and others meaner. That's what I've seen and, unfortunately, that's the way it is. But anything can happen to anyone, anywhere, and at anytime --- on any forum. You'll always have people who get it and people who don't want to get it. And you and I will never escape other people's opinions. Believe me, I'll admit that if everyone had the exact same opinion I have about everything, this would be a pretty boring world to live in, wouldn't it? I have accepted the fact that everyone, regardless of gender, color, like or dislike, is just different. That's all.

I've had that on other sites but not as much here. People here seem sincere with their nastiness

I can guarantee you that some of my posts would be taken in an entirely different manner if you could see me sitting here grinning from ear-to-ear instead of frowning like you might think...
