I have studied astrology and numerology at one time many years ago. Fascinating! No one says that you must believe in these two subjects, however they do provide a person with a different outlook on the progression of life. My DH had an aunt that studied Astrology and was extremely proficient is putting a person's life chart together. I do have most of her old books that are dated back to the early 1900's. Again, fascinating. Numerology and Astrology, both.

As I mentioned earlier, numbers do control just about all aspects of our lives. Think about it!

Computers, for instance, just a bunch of 1's and 0's. Birth dates, addresses, 'phone numbers, number of posts on a thread. Statistics, weight, height, Hours employed, rate of renumeration (hmmmm, 'numbers' there?). and of course, on and on. It is everywhere.............

Well, I came here to post about a 24 hour clock, so I got nothing.

But here's an amusing little anecdote you can test on your friends.

Using a calculator try this: and it's fine to embellish. I haven't done this in a long time, but I usually start out: "Y'know, there's a mathematical reason for everything, yadda yadda yadda... (which usually gets their interest - remember to keep a straight face!)

There were 142 Israelis (enter 142)
engaged in battle with 154 Arabs (enter 154)
They were fighting over 69 square miles of land (enter 69)
On each side 5 were killed (enter X 5)
You wanna know what they were actually fighting over? Turn the calculator so that it reads upside down and you'll have your answer.

The equation is 14215469 X 5 then turn the calculator upside down. First one with the correct answer earns a cookie!

I just turned my computer upside down to read the answer. It looks like this. Can I have a cookie please. WTF! What does it all mean?

I like to try to make words out of telephone numbers, awhile back I had a number my brother could never remember, and I came up with the area code + FIRES10. He always remembered it! I haven't been that lucky since.

Ding ding ding !

two winners at 9:01

agreatlife - I guess I should have suggested using a hand-held calculator. Their numbers are more blockish and look more letter-like when inverted. Cookies all around!

11:11 has always been my number, not sure where it started. I believe it started because I would frequently look at the clock, and it always seemed to be 11:11, so I took it as a sign...
I used to always buy lottery tickets on Nov 11th, at 11:11, at a store right across the street from a house with the 1111 address. Needless to say, I have yet to win the lottery, and since moving, I don't bother buying tickets on that date and time anymore. Perhaps my lucky 1111 time is yet to come.
Very interesting to find other people with the same nutty feeling about a time..!
