our favorite outside games: war! (dodge ball) or playing "volley ball" over eachothers fences which was our net.
but my very favorite thing to do was roller skate. i think i spent from age 3-12 on skates. i miss that! i need to get myself some skates again

I jumped rope, climbed a tree and played hide and seek a lot this past year with my neighbor kids, but they moved last month

hey lol you should ask him f you can "double dutch jump rope" just to see the look on his face

ok lets see

When was the last time you

Climbed a tree ?

about 6 or 7 years ago I was doing a volunteer project and they wanted a picture and someone had the "great" idea that we should all climb up in this huge tree for the picture

Played hop-scotch ?

I was out walking the dogs a few months ago and one of the neighborhood kids had drawn a hopscotch thing on the sidewalk
I couldn't resist

Used a jump rope ?
hmmm years I think
when I was young I was pretty good at the double dutch

Played hide & seek ?
well lol actually with my hubby
our first date was to one of those kid adventure places, we went in to play "laser tag" and I told him we had to be on separate teams so we could "hunt"
each other so that was a grown up version of hide & seek
lol and yup he still married me

Bonus question :
What was your favorite "outside game" as a kid
?
I loved
duck duck goose
and dodge ball

Todays Question(s) :

When was the last time you
Climbed a tree ?
I don't remember the last time I climbed a tree, but I remember my brother and myself sitting on a limb over Old Sixteen Highway in Wilkes County watching the cars go by underneath us. We were way out on a limb. Those were the good old days.
Played hop-scotch ?
I started to say 1960, but I think I taught my daughter to play that just a few years back. I am sure she beat me.
Used a jump rope ?
I was still jumping rope for exercise just a few years back.
( anyone remember the name of the jump rope game where you used 2 jump ropes)
Played hide & seek ?
Not long ago with my grandchildren. They love to play hide and seek.

Bonus question :
What was your favorite "outside game" as a kid ?
I liked using the beebee gun to shoot leaves off the trees and we were that good. It was a game because we competed for who could do it the best. My brother usually won.

Jump rope, hop scotch, wear a skirt, I've never done any of these. I think I played hide & seek last week. Mrs Dude was looking for me. She wanted me to clean the garage. Oh wait, that was just hide unless you consider me seeking a place where I would not be found.

Climb a tree? I'm afraid of heights, climb is not in my vocabulary. We played baseball every day during the summer. Some of the kids I played were drafted by pro teams.

This is not going to be a good day. Don't like jelly beans or cotton candy. At this point I must egress and crush cans.

Karla, this is not about me, but it is something that happened in our area. We went to church one morning and the conversation was about one of the church members, an eighty-something year old man. His wife had called our pastor to ask for help getting him out of a tree or off the top of the house. It seems he liked to climb trees and he was still doing it and would not come down. I don't remember all the details, but it was hilarious. This sweet old couple had no children, so the entire church had become their caretakers. We still laugh about this. Just had to share!

I haven't climbed a tree in a very long time. I didn't do that much as a kid either, unless it was to get in the treehouse.I didn't play hop scotch but maybe once or twice as a kid. I jumped rope with my kids just a couple of days ago and we play hide and seek alot.

My favorite outside games as a kid were:
Dodgeball, kickball, volleyball and freeze tag.

Have a wonderful day everyone.....
